Facials in Lubbock, TX

Professional facials in Lubbock: Mini ($90), European ($165), Customized ($195), and Back ($175), plus a dermaplaning add-on. Deep cleanse, exfoliation, extractions, mask, and hydration, matched to your skin by a licensed esthetician.

How long a facial takes

Most facials run 30 to 60 minutes: about 30 for the Mini Facial and a full 60 for the European, Customized, and Back Facials. Because skin renews on roughly a monthly cycle, and that cycle lengthens with age, many people come in every four to six weeks to keep the results from fading between visits.

What kind of treatment is a facial?

An in-spa facial performed by a licensed esthetician: cleanse, exfoliation, extractions to clear clogged pores, a treatment mask, and finishing hydration, with the products matched to your skin that day. Dermaplaning can be added. Downtime is minimal, with short-lived redness possible after extractions.

How often should you book a facial?

Primarily the face and neck. The Back Facial brings the same full protocol to the back, which is prone to congestion and hard to reach on your own, which makes it a sensible option for back acne.

What facials treat

For skin maintenance: a deeper clean, clearer pores, hydration, and smoother surface texture, plus extractions done safely by a professional. A facial is upkeep, not a cure. Deeper concerns like stubborn acne, wrinkles, melasma, or scarring are better addressed with chemical peels, laser, or injectable treatments.

A professional deep-clean for your skin, honest about what it can and can't do

What are medical-grade facials?

A facial is a professional skin treatment. A licensed esthetician cleanses your skin, exfoliates away dead surface cells, performs extractions to clear clogged pores, applies a treatment mask, and finishes with products that hydrate and protect. Before any of that, she actually looks at your skin and reads it: oily or dry, congested or calm, what is going on with it that day. That read is what shapes the rest of the hour.

The point of a facial is upkeep. A good one leaves your skin clean, hydrated, and smoother to the touch, and most people find the time on the table genuinely relaxing. Done on a regular schedule, it keeps pores clearer and skin in steadier shape than at-home care alone, and it lets a trained set of hands do extractions safely instead of you picking at home. What a facial is not is a cure. It will not erase deep wrinkles, fix acne that is driven by hormones or genetics, or lift set-in pigment or scarring. Those belong to the medical, laser, and injectable side of what we do, and we would rather tell you that plainly than sell you a result a facial cannot give.

We offer several, from a quick 30-minute refresh to a fully customized hour, with a dermaplaning add-on if you want it. The rest of this page walks through what happens in the room, what each facial costs, and how to pick the one that fits.

What to expect from a facial at The Spa by Sheena

Your facial runs 30 to 90 minutes depending on the type you book. Your aesthetician starts with a skin assessment — cleansing off the day, looking at what your skin actually needs today. From there, the protocol adapts: exfoliation depth, whether extractions are needed, which mask fits your skin, which serums to use.

Most facials are relaxing — you'll leave with brighter, hydrated, smoother skin. Some elements (extractions especially) can feel briefly uncomfortable. Mild pink or redness for 1 to 3 hours after is normal, especially after extractions or deeper exfoliation. Some clients see brief "purging" breakouts as deeper skin content clears — normal, resolves in a few days.

Skip strong actives (retinol, AHA/BHA at home) for 24 to 48 hours. Use SPF. Drink water. Most clients rebook every 4 to 6 weeks to keep the results going.

CUSTOM PROTOCOL

ONGOING MAINTENANCE

Every 4 to 6 weeks aligns with your skin's natural turnover cycle for consistent results.

Inside a facial appointment

Here is what a visit looks like. We start by talking through your skin and what you want out of the session. Then we cleanse, and usually steam or warm the skin to soften it and loosen the pores. Exfoliation comes next, either a gentle scrub or a mild acid or enzyme, to lift off dead cells on the surface. If your pores need it, extractions happen here. Then a mask matched to your skin, and to finish, serum, moisturizer, and sun protection. A facial runs 30 to 60 minutes depending on which one you book.

What separates them is mostly length and depth. The Mini Facial is a quick 30-minute refresh: cleanse, light exfoliation, and hydration, without the full extraction-and-mask sequence. Good as a first facial, or a tune-up between longer visits.

Most people booking a full facial land on the European Facial, the classic hour: cleanse, exfoliate, extractions, mask, and a finishing step. If you want the complete facial and aren't sure which to book, that's the standard choice. The Customized Facial runs the same hour, but every product is chosen for your skin the day you come in, so it flexes when you are more congested, drier, or more reactive than usual.

The Back Facial brings that same full protocol to your back, an area that's hard to reach on your own and prone to congestion, so it's a sensible pick for back acne. You can also add dermaplaning, a sterile-blade pass that lifts peach fuzz and dull surface skin, onto any facial, or book it on its own. Prices for all of these are set out below.

Many people come in every four to six weeks. That spacing is not arbitrary. Your skin renews itself on roughly a monthly cycle, and that cycle runs longer as you age, so a facial about once a cycle keeps the results from fading between visits. One facial still feels good on its own. A steady habit is what actually shifts how your skin looks over time.

Best as a quarterly maintenance routine

Before your first facial

Downtime is minimal. Your skin may look a little flushed right after, especially where we did extractions, and that usually settles within a few hours. You can go back to your day. We will tell you what to use and what to skip for the next day or so while your skin calms.

Most healthy skin does well with a facial, whether you're after maintenance, a cleaner complexion, or professional extractions done safely rather than at the bathroom mirror. If your main concern runs deeper, stubborn acne, real wrinkles, melasma, or scarring, a facial is the wrong tool, and we'll steer you toward chemical peels, laser, or an injectable instead. We don't promise a specific result from any facial, and no honest provider should.

Facials at The Spa by Sheena start at $90, and every one is performed by a licensed esthetician. The spa has been open in Lubbock since 2016, founded by Sheena Klos, a CIDESCO Master Esthetician, with treatments overseen by our medical director, Dr. Arledge, a plastic surgeon. Our facial menu:

  • Mini Facial — $90, a 30-minute refresh
  • European Facial — $165, the classic full 60-minute facial
  • Customized Facial — $195, the full hour built around your skin that day
  • Back Facial — $175, the full protocol for the hard-to-reach back

Add dermaplaning to any facial for $225 together, or book it on its own for $90. If you want a more device-driven treatment, we also run a separate Glo2Facial line.

FAQ

Your questions,  answered

We’ve answered some of the most common questions below to help make your experience simple, transparent, and stress-free.

Standard facials include a cleanse, exfoliation (mechanical or chemical depending on the type), steam, extractions if needed, a treatment mask tailored to your skin, facial massage with serums, and SPF. Length varies by facial type—Mini Facials are 30 minutes, Customized Facials run 60–75 minutes, advanced protocols 75–90 minutes.

What's included in a facial at The Spa by Sheena?

A Customized Facial. We start with a skin consultation, then build the facial around your specific needs—exfoliation method, mask selection, serums, and home care recommendations. This gives us a baseline and lets us recommend a path forward. From there, you'll know which targeted treatments fit best.

What facial is best for first-time patients?

Every 4–6 weeks for maintenance. Skin cells turn over every 28 days, so monthly facials keep texture, hydration, and tone consistent. If you're treating an active concern (acne, melasma), more frequently during correction, then drop to monthly maintenance once stable.

How often should I get facials?

Medical facials use professional-grade products and modalities (chemical peels, microdermabrasion, LED, ultrasound) that produce measurable changes—not just temporary glow. They're customized to your skin's condition rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. All our facials are medical-grade because we operate under physician oversight.

What's the difference between a regular facial and a medical facial?

Yes—when done consistently. Targeted acne facials include deep cleansing, salicylic acid exfoliation, extractions, LED light therapy, and acne-calming masks. For active acne we recommend treatments every 2–3 weeks during correction, then monthly maintenance. Significant acne usually needs facials plus a medical regimen, sometimes plus peels.

Do facials help with acne?

Facials range $90–$225. European Facial: $165. Teen Facial: $165. Customized Facial: $195. Back Facial: $175. Glo2 Facials are priced separately ($150–$525 across variants). Memberships reduce per-facial cost significantly—we recommend membership for any patient committed to monthly facials.

How much do facials cost in Lubbock?

None for standard facials. Mild redness for 1–2 hours after extractions or deeper exfoliation. Skip heavy makeup and direct sun for 24 hours. Don't pick at any small spots that may surface in the days after a facial—this is normal skin clearing as treatments work.

What's the downtime after a facial?

Yes—often recommended. Active breakouts benefit from professional extractions (done correctly to prevent scarring) and calming treatments. We'll skip aggressive exfoliation on active inflamed skin. Tell us about any active issues at booking so we can adjust the protocol.

Can I get a facial when I'm breaking out?

Same protocol as a face facial, but on the back. Cleansing, exfoliation, extractions, mask, and hydration. Excellent for patients with back acne, congestion from sports/sweating, or for general maintenance before vacation or wedding/special events. About 60 minutes.

What's a back facial and who needs one?

Not necessary—we'll cleanse it off anyway. If you're coming straight from work, no problem. We provide robes if you'd like to change. Most patients leave fresh-faced with just SPF; we have makeup available if you need to head somewhere after.

Should I wear makeup to my facial appointment?

Yes—most of our facials are pregnancy-safe. We avoid retinoids, salicylic acid, hydroquinone, and certain essential oils during pregnancy. Tell us at booking and we'll customize the protocol with pregnancy-safe products throughout.

Can I get a facial when pregnant?

Book online or call (806) 701-5840. Most facial appointments are available within a week. New patients: a Customized Facial is the recommended starting point. Repeat patients: book whichever facial fits your needs.
