Herbal Green Peel in Lubbock, TX
The Original GREEN PEEL® works a mixture of eight selected herbs into the skin instead of an acid. We run all three German methods in Lubbock: Classic for full renewal with visible peeling, Energy for regeneration without it, and Fresh Up for a fast refresh. Every one is performed by a certified esthetician.
How long it takes
All three methods are single appointments. Classic adds a required follow-up visit, the Finishing Facial, five days later once the peeling has run its course. Energy and Fresh Up are done when you walk out. Classic can be repeated about once a month, three weeks after the Finishing Facial; Energy and Fresh Up are usually booked as a series.
Type of treatment
A herbal peeling treatment, not a chemical peel. A certified esthetician massages a mixture of eight selected herbs into the skin by hand. Schrammek Kosmetik states it contains no acids and no abrasive particles and that it does not change the skin's pH. Performed by our licensed estheticians under medical director Dr. Arledge, a plastic surgeon.
Where we peel
Face and neck for all three methods. Classic and the body version of Energy also treat the abdomen, upper arms and thighs, which is where the method gets used for stretch marks and slackening skin. GREEN PEEL® works in the epidermis, the outer layer of skin, so it will not lighten a tattoo or permanent makeup sitting in the layer beneath.
What it's for
Sun-damaged skin and wrinkles, blemished skin, scars and stretch marks, slackening skin on the abdomen, upper arms and thighs, and certain forms of hyperpigmentation. The lighter methods handle dull, tired-looking skin and the first signs of aging. Which of the three fits you is settled at your consultation, not online.
The herbal massage is the treatment itself
Our Herbal Green Peel Treatments
Herbal Green Peel Classic
Pricing confirmed at consultation
Herbal Green Peel Classic is the full renewal treatment and the only one of the three methods that peels visibly. The herbal massage lifts the uppermost layers of the epidermis and shortens the skin's 28-day renewal cycle to five. Peeling starts on day three. A follow-up Finishing Facial appointment is part of the protocol.

Herbal Green Peel Energy
Pricing confirmed at consultation
Herbal Green Peel Energy uses the same eight herbs as Classic at lower intensity and skips the peeling entirely. It stimulates circulation, oxygen supply and cellular metabolism, so the skin improves without days of flaking. On the body it targets stretch marks, cellulite dimpling and loss of elasticity. Usually booked as a series.

Herbal Green Peel Fresh Up
Pricing confirmed at consultation
Herbal Green Peel Fresh Up is the lightest of the three methods. The skin is stimulated and refreshed rather than peeled: circulation picks up, pores open, and whatever is applied afterward absorbs better. Book it for tired, dull skin or the week of an event. The effect usually shows the same day.

A German method in professional use since 1958
How eight herbs resurface skin without acid
GREEN PEEL® is a herbal peeling method built on a mixture of eight selected herbs containing enzymes, minerals and vitamins, which a certified esthetician massages into the skin by hand. The manufacturer, Dr. med. Christine Schrammek Kosmetik of Düsseldorf, states plainly that it is not an acid treatment and not a chemical peeling method. The action is mechanical and botanical, and it works in the epidermis, the outer layer of skin.
Six of the eight herbs are named publicly: horsetail, aloe vera, ribwort, lungwort, pansy and marigold. Your provider adjusts the amount of the herbal mixture and the pressure of the massage to your skin, and that adjustment is most of what separates the three methods from each other.
Christine Schrammek developed the original in Germany in 1958, working as a beautician. Her daughter, dermatologist Dr. med. Christine Schrammek-Drusio, has developed the method since 1988, and the current three-method system dates to a 2010 relaunch. It is offered in more than 70 countries, and the herbs are sold only to providers who hold a current certification.
What the days after a Herbal Green Peel look like
With Classic, the first two days bring redness rather than shedding, and your provider covers it with a tinted balm. Visible peeling starts on day three for most people, is heaviest on day four, and is largely finished by day five, after your Finishing Facial. How much you actually peel varies a great deal from person to person, and a light peel does not mean the treatment failed. The renewal underneath runs the same either way.
For comparison, Schrammek Kosmetik puts the downtime of a TCA or phenol peel at 10 to 14 days.
Energy and Fresh Up have no shedding phase at all. You leave with skin that reads warmer and better rested. Energy asks one thing of you: keep your face dry until the next morning. Fresh Up asks nothing, and tends to show its effect immediately.
Aftercare has one rule people get wrong, and it is the rule that decides whether the treatment works. After a Classic treatment, no water touches the treated skin for five days, until your Finishing Facial, because water rinses the herbs back out. Herbal Care Lotion on a cotton pad is your cleanser in the meantime. Once the flaking starts, leave it alone: the old skin is protecting the new skin underneath and comes away on its own when it is ready. Picking it early is how people end up with marks. Wear broad-spectrum sunscreen daily and stay out of direct midday sun while you heal, since fresh skin burns and marks easily.

Why clients book the Herbal Green Peel in Lubbock
NO ACID INVOLVED
The exfoliation comes from eight selected herbs and the pressure of the massage, with no acids, no abrasive particles and no change to the skin's pH.
ALL THREE METHODS
Classic for full renewal with visible peeling, Energy for regeneration without it, and Fresh Up for a same-day refresh.
A FIVE-DAY RENEWAL
Classic shortens the skin's usual 28-day renewal cycle to five days.
FACE AND BODY
Stretch marks and slackening skin on the abdomen, upper arms and thighs are on the list, which most facial peels never address.
CERTIFIED PROVIDERS ONLY
Schrammek sells the herbs only to providers who hold a current GREEN PEEL® certification, renewed every three years.
The herbal massage is the treatment itself
What your Herbal Green Peel visit looks like
Your provider assesses your skin and confirms which of the three methods fits before anything is applied. Then the skin is cleansed and the herbal mixture is massaged in by hand. There is no machine and no blade in any part of this. Your esthetician works without gloves, which surprises people the first time and is simply what working with a botanical mixture looks like.
The massage brings tingling and prickling that tracks with how much pressure your provider uses. It is not a numbing-cream treatment and it is not painful. Classic runs at higher pressure and for longer than Energy or Fresh Up, and Schrammek Kosmetik describes it honestly as tolerable rather than relaxing. After the massage, the skin is covered and kept damp while the herbs work, then finished and sent home with instructions.
Every GREEN PEEL® here is performed by a licensed esthetician who holds a current GREEN PEEL® certification, under our medical director, Dr. Arledge, a plastic surgeon. Certification takes a two-day seminar with Dr. med. Christine Schrammek USA and has to be renewed every three years, and the herbs cannot be bought without it. You can see the team on our about page.
What to know before you book Classic
Plan your Herbal Green Peel around the calendar
Classic is a commitment, and it is fair to know that before you book. The Finishing Facial follow-up appointment five days later is part of the treatment, not an upsell, and Schrammek Kosmetik is explicit that the home-care set you go home with has to be used consistently because the result depends on it. Classic can be repeated about once a month, three weeks after your Finishing Facial.
Energy and Fresh Up carry none of that. No follow-up visit and no shedding phase. Energy asks you to keep your face dry until the next morning; Fresh Up asks nothing at all. Both are normally run as a series rather than a one-off. If you have an event coming up, Fresh Up is the one to book, and there is no reason to book it more than a few days out.
A word on pigment, because it gets oversold. Schrammek Kosmetik's own claim is that Classic addresses certain forms of hyperpigmentation, and that hedge is there for a reason. Melasma in particular can be lightened but not cured, it tends to return, and heat and aggressive treatment make it worse. If pigment is your main concern, read our melasma and pigmentation page and talk it through before you book anything.

FAQ
Your questions, answered
We’ve answered some of the most common questions below to help make your experience simple, transparent, and stress-free.
Yes. There is a persistent idea that peels should not be done in warm months, and Schrammek is blunt that it is not true. No season rules the treatment out. What matters is the eight weeks afterward: no sunbathing, no tanning beds, and daily SPF. If you have a beach trip six weeks out, that is the reason to move the appointment, not the month on the calendar.
Can I have a Herbal Green Peel in the summer?
No. The skin around the eyes is very thin, carries almost no fat underneath and swells easily, so the herbal massage is kept off that zone. This holds for all three methods.
Can the eye area be treated?
Lightly, and not with Classic. The skin over the throat and cleavage is thin with very little underneath it, so Classic's pressure would work almost directly against bone. Schrammek's guidance is to use Energy or Fresh Up on those areas instead, and the results there are good. The throat can take a short, light treatment. The cleavage is not peeled with Classic at all.
Can my neck and chest be treated?
No. The massage raises circulation sharply, and treating too large an area in one sitting can affect blood pressure. The working rule is that the treated area should be no larger than the face. Body work is booked as its own appointment.
Can I have my face and body treated in the same visit?
It is not performed on children. From puberty onward it can be appropriate, and that is decided individually at consultation based on the skin and the person rather than a birthday.
Is there an age limit for the Herbal Green Peel?
Not Classic. The herbs are not the concern. The issue is that anything happening during a pregnancy can end up wrongly attributed to a treatment, so Schrammek's position, and ours, is to wait. Afterward the method suits stretch marks well, and it works best on marks that are still fresh. Tell us at booking if you are pregnant or nursing.
Can I have a Herbal Green Peel while pregnant or breastfeeding?
No. It prompts the skin's own regeneration rather than stripping it back, so the worry about thinning or premature ageing does not apply. What you are left with is new skin, not less of it.
Does the Herbal Green Peel thin the skin?
The treatment is the same; the settings are not. Men's skin is generally thicker, so your provider sets the pressure and the length of the massage from a skin analysis rather than a fixed protocol. After Classic, dry shaving is fine. Wet shaving waits five days.
Is the Herbal Green Peel different for men?
Probably not Classic. Rosacea and extremely thin, sensitive skin are the cases where Schrammek steers away from the full method, and Fresh Up is where we would start instead. Your provider confirms which one fits before anything is applied, so a consultation is the right first step here rather than booking a treatment outright.
I have rosacea and very sensitive skin. Can I still have a Herbal Green Peel?
Yes, and it matters more here than most people expect. Several common medications and recent treatments mean the skin cannot be peeled yet, and how long you wait depends on which one. Recent laser work, dermabrasion, acid treatments and acne medication each carry their own timeline. We go through all of it at consultation before anything is booked. Rescheduling is easy. Treating skin that was not ready is not.
Do I need to tell you what medications I am taking?
GREEN PEEL® is a herbal peeling method from Germany, in professional use since 1958. A certified esthetician massages a mixture of eight selected herbs into the skin by hand. Those herbs carry enzymes, minerals and vitamins, and the exfoliation comes from the mixture combined with the pressure of the massage. Six of the eight are published: horsetail, aloe vera, ribwort, lungwort, pansy and marigold.
What is a Herbal Green Peel?
No. The manufacturer, Dr. med. Christine Schrammek Kosmetik of Düsseldorf, states that GREEN PEEL® is not an acid treatment and not a chemical peeling method. It contains no acids and no abrasive particles, and it does not change the skin's pH. That is why it often suits skin that has reacted badly to acid before. For the acid-based options, see our chemical peels.
Is GREEN PEEL® a chemical peel?
The herbs are the same in all three. What changes is how much of the mixture your provider uses and how much pressure goes into the massage. Classic is the full renewal treatment and the only one that peels visibly. Energy works the same herbs at lower intensity and skips the peeling. Fresh Up is the lightest and the quickest. Your provider confirms which one fits your skin before anything is applied.
What is the difference between Herbal Green Peel Classic, Energy and Fresh Up?
No. The massage brings tingling and prickling that tracks with how much pressure your provider uses. No numbing cream is involved. Classic runs at higher pressure and for longer than the other two, and Schrammek Kosmetik describes it honestly as tolerable rather than relaxing.
Does the Herbal Green Peel hurt?
The first two days bring redness rather than shedding, and your provider covers it with a tinted balm. Visible peeling usually starts on day three and is largely finished by day five. How much you peel varies a great deal between people. A light peel does not mean the treatment underperformed, because the renewal underneath runs the same either way.
How long does the peeling last after Herbal Green Peel Classic?
Neither has a shedding phase. Energy asks one thing of you — keep your face dry until the next morning, then start your Home Care Set. Fresh Up asks nothing at all, and your normal routine resumes right away. Both leave you with skin that reads warmer and better rested, and Fresh Up in particular tends to show its effect the same day, which is why it is the one to book the week of an event.
Do Energy and Fresh Up have any downtime?
Water rinses the herbs back out of the skin, which is why the rule is strict. After a Classic treatment the treated skin stays unwashed for five days, until your Finishing Facial — Herbal Care Lotion on a cotton pad, morning and evening, is your only cleanser in that window. Energy clients keep the face dry until the next morning. Fresh Up carries no water restriction. Once the flaking starts, leave it alone. The old skin is protecting the new skin underneath and comes away on its own when it is ready, and picking it early is how people end up with marks.
Why can I not wash my face after a Classic treatment?
It is the follow-up visit five days after a Classic treatment, once the peeling has run its course. It is part of the treatment rather than an add-on. Schrammek is also explicit that the home-care set you go home with has to be used consistently, because the result depends on it.
What is the Finishing Facial appointment?
Classic runs about once a month. Schrammek's guidance is three weeks after your Finishing Facial, which puts the next treatment roughly four weeks on from the one before it. Energy and Fresh Up are normally booked as a series rather than as one-offs, and your provider sets that spacing at your consultation.
How often can I have a Herbal Green Peel?
Yes. Classic and the body version of Energy treat the abdomen, upper arms and thighs, which is where the method gets used for stretch marks and slackening skin. Most facial peels do not address body skin at all. GREEN PEEL® works in the epidermis, the outer layer of skin, so it will not lighten a tattoo or permanent makeup sitting in the layer beneath.
Can the Herbal Green Peel treat stretch marks?
Schrammek's own claim is that Classic addresses certain forms of hyperpigmentation, and that wording is deliberately narrow. In our hands, Fresh Up is the method we use for melasma, run as a course of six treatments or until we get the result we are after. Melasma can be lightened but not cured, it tends to return, and heat and aggressive treatment make it worse. If pigment is your main concern, read our melasma and hyperpigmentation page and talk it through before booking anything.
Will the Herbal Green Peel help with melasma or hyperpigmentation?
Pricing is confirmed at your consultation, because which of the three methods fits depends on your skin and on how much downtime you can give it. VIP members save 10% on every Herbal Green Peel treatment. Call (806) 701-5840 or book online.
