The story behind The Spa by Sheena.
I wanted to build the kind of place I wished existed when I was in my twenties — somewhere patients felt heard, not sold to.
I opened The Spa in 2016 after ten years of working in aesthetics across Texas. I'd built real relationships with so many patients in those years — and what kept me up at night was watching them leave other appointments feeling pressured, oversold, or unsure whether they'd actually been heard.
So I rented a single treatment room in South Lubbock, called a few of my long-time patients, and put up a small sign. The deal was simple: patients would tell me what they wanted, I'd be honest about what was possible, and nobody would ever leave feeling like they'd been talked into something they didn't ask for.
Ten years later, that's still the deal. We've grown — there are six of us now, and a facility most people drive past without realizing what's inside — but the philosophy hasn't shifted. Medical-grade results. Natural-looking finish. No pressure, ever. Many of the patients I started with are still with us, plus a lot of new ones I'm grateful to have met.
Twenty years into this work, I love it more than I did the day I started. I love the science of skin. I love the moment a patient sees herself in the mirror and recognizes the person looking back. And I love the trust patients have placed in me — and now in our team — to take care of something as personal as how they feel in their own skin.
If you're new to all of this, I want you to know: you'll never feel rushed with us. Bring your questions. Bring your skepticism. Bring the screenshots from Instagram if you want — we love when patients come prepared. Our job is to listen first, recommend second, and only do what you actually want.

Every appointment starts with a conversation, not a recommendation. We want to hear what you've tried, what you're worried about, and what "looking like yourself" actually means to you — before we recommend a single product or service.

If a treatment isn't right for your skin, your goal, or your budget, we'll tell you. Sometimes the best advice is "wait six months" or "this isn't the right service for you yet." Trust matters more than today's revenue.

Our standard is "you look rested, not different." We can absolutely deliver more dramatic results when that's what you want — but we always start with the most natural option and let you ask for more.
