What is a Back Facial?

The Back Facial brings our full facial protocol to the back, and it is $175. The back is a common spot for congestion, breakouts, and rough texture, and it is the one area you cannot really reach on your own. A professional treatment handles what an at-home routine cannot — a proper cleanse, exfoliation, extractions, and a mask, all on skin that is otherwise easy to neglect.

What to expect from a Back Facial

Downtime is minimal. Your back may look a little flushed right after, especially where we did extractions, and that settles within a few hours.

For the next day, skip tight workout clothing, heavy product layers, and sunscreen residue on the treated skin, and let it breathe while it calms. Chronic back acne responds best to a series of treatments paired with a simple home routine — a back-friendly cleanser, occasional exfoliation, and sunscreen on exposed skin.

We do not promise a specific result from any facial. Every treatment here is performed by a licensed esthetician under our medical director, Dr. Arledge, a plastic surgeon; the spa has been open in Lubbock since 2016. The 60-minute visit covers a thorough cleanse, exfoliation — chemical, mechanical, or both, depending on your skin — extractions of clogged pores and blackheads, a treatment mask matched to the goal (clarifying for breakouts, hydrating for general care), and a finishing step.

Extractions on a congested back can feel briefly uncomfortable, but they are quick, and having them done safely beats reaching around at home. There are no needles and no real downtime.

What's a Back Facial?

Yes—often the primary reason patients book. Professional extractions of clogged pores (done correctly to avoid scarring) and acne-focused exfoliation produce visible improvement. Severe back acne may need a series plus home care support.

Will a Back Facial help with back acne?

Same protocol, different area. Back skin is thicker than face skin and tolerates somewhat more aggressive exfoliation. Treatment time is similar (45–60 minutes).

How often should I get a Back Facial?

We provide a robe or wrap. You'll lay face-down for the treatment with your back exposed. Bring or wear a sports bra/bottom you don't mind being seen in if you'd like.

What should I wear to a Back Facial?

Mild discomfort during extractions—comparable to face extractions. Mask application and hydration are relaxing. Most patients find it comfortable and often relaxing despite the active treatment.

Does a Back Facial hurt?

Hyperpigmentation (dark marks) from past acne responds well to chemical peels and facials. True scarring (textural) needs different treatments like microneedling or RF microneedling. We'll assess at consultation and recommend the right approach.
