OUR STORY

Built around you
not the trend.

Twelve years ago, Sheena opened a small treatment room in Lubbock with a single belief: medical-grade aesthetics should never feel transactional. That belief still runs everything we do.

DURATION

A PRP microneedling session at The Spa by Sheena lasts 90 to 120 minutes total, including the blood draw, PRP processing, topical numbing, microneedling, and PRP application.

PROCEDURE TYPE

PRP for the face at The Spa by Sheena is classified as a cosmetic procedure, used electively to enhance skin quality rather than to treat a medical condition.

BODY AREA

PRP for the face at The Spa by Sheena is administered on the face, with platelet-rich plasma applied topically during and after microneedling to absorb through the micro-channels.

INDICATION

PRP for the face at The Spa by Sheena treats acne scarring, fine lines, and skin texture concerns, with a standard protocol of 3 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.

THE PROTOCOL

What is PRP for the face?

PRP for the face refers to platelet-rich plasma applied topically during and after a microneedling session (sometimes called the "vampire facial"). The microneedling creates micro-channels in the skin; the PRP, rich in growth factors, absorbs through those channels and accelerates the regenerative response.

What to expect from PRP microneedling

Each PRP service starts with a blood draw (about 15 to 20 mL, similar to a routine lab). The blood is processed in the centrifuge for about 10 minutes while the treatment area is prepared with numbing (if applicable). Total visit time is 60 to 90 minutes.

You may have mild bruising at the draw site. The treatment area (scalp, face, or filler site) may be tender, red, or mildly swollen for 24 to 48 hours after.

Skip strenuous exercise and alcohol for 24 hours. Most patients return to normal activity the next day. Results develop over weeks; plan the full series before evaluating outcome.

Benefits of Botox

SOFTENED ACNE SCARS

PRP-enhanced microneedling is one of the most effective non-laser treatments for acne scarring.

NATURAL HEALING

Your own platelet-rich plasma drives faster healing and more dramatic collagen building per session.

BETTER PER-SESSION RESULTS

Adding PRP often reduces total sessions needed compared to standard microneedling alone.

ALL SKIN TYPES

Safe and effective across skin tones with no risk of pigmentation issues from PRP itself.

GROWTH FACTORS

Concentrated growth factors from your own blood signal aggressive skin regeneration.

THE APPOINTMENT

Inside a PRP microneedling appointment

The session takes 90 to 120 minutes total: blood draw, PRP processing, topical numbing, microneedling, PRP application. The PRP-soaked skin is left to absorb naturally; you go home with serum still on your face (don't wash for several hours).

FAQ

Your questions,  answered

We’ve answered some of the most common questions below to help make your experience simple, transparent, and stress-free.

We microneedle your skin (creating tiny micro-channels for collagen induction), then apply PRP (platelet-rich plasma from your own blood) topically. The PRP penetrates the micro-channels, delivering concentrated growth factors directly into the dermis. Result: enhanced collagen response, faster healing, better texture and tone than microneedling alone.

What is PRP for face / microneedling?

Regular microneedling triggers collagen response from the micro-injuries alone. Adding PRP delivers growth factors that signal more aggressive regeneration. Results are visible faster, healing is quicker, and total improvement per session is greater. The trade-off: PRP adds time (blood draw, processing) and cost to the appointment.

How is PRP microneedling different from regular microneedling?

Most patients need 3 to 4 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart for full effect. Acne scar patients may need additional sessions. Adding PRP often produces better per-session results than standard microneedling alone.

How many PRP microneedling sessions will I need?

Topical numbing applied for 30–45 minutes before makes it well-tolerated—rough/scratchy sensation. Without numbing it would be significantly uncomfortable; with it, manageable. Blood draw at start of session is a quick pinch.

Does PRP microneedling hurt?

Recovery is about 5 days, similar to standard microneedling. Day 1: red and slightly puffy. Day 2–3: redness fading. Day 4–5: fully recovered.

What's the recovery from PRP microneedling?

$250 per session (existing pricing reflects competitive PRP combo pricing). Series pricing available. Members receive discounted per-session cost. Significantly more cost-effective than separate microneedling and PRP treatments.

How much does PRP microneedling cost in Lubbock?

Acne scars (one of the most effective non-laser treatments), fine lines, sun damage, uneven texture, enlarged pores, melasma (with caution), overall skin quality. Particularly good for patients who want regenerative treatment without synthetic products.

What conditions does PRP microneedling treat?

Initial glow within days—often more pronounced than standard microneedling. Texture improvement visible 4–6 weeks after each session. Full results from a series at 3 months.

When will I see results?

Yes—often layered with chemical peels (alternating in a series), Glo2 facials between microneedling sessions, and topical regimens. We design multi-modal plans for patients with complex concerns.

Can I combine PRP microneedling with other treatments?

Book a complimentary consultation. We'll evaluate your skin and determine if PRP microneedling, standard microneedling, or RF microneedling fits your goals. Call (806) 701-5840 or book online.
