OUR STORY

Built around you
not the trend.

Twelve years ago, Sheena opened a small treatment room in Lubbock with a single belief: medical-grade aesthetics should never feel transactional. That belief still runs everything we do.

DURATION

A PRP hair restoration session at The Spa by Sheena lasts 60 to 75 minutes, including the blood draw, PRP processing, scalp numbing, and grid-pattern injections.

PROCEDURE TYPE

PRP hair restoration at The Spa by Sheena is classified as a cosmetic procedure, used electively to slow hair thinning rather than to treat a medical condition.

BODY AREA

PRP hair restoration at The Spa by Sheena is administered on the scalp, with PRP injected in a grid pattern at the level of the hair follicles.

INDICATION

PRP hair restoration at The Spa by Sheena treats early-to-mid stage hair thinning in men and women by stimulating dormant follicles and slowing ongoing miniaturization.

THE PROTOCOL

What is PRP hair restoration?

PRP hair restoration uses platelet-rich plasma derived from your own blood, injected into the scalp at the level of the hair follicles. The growth factors in PRP stimulate dormant follicles, increase blood supply to active follicles, and slow ongoing miniaturization in patients with early-stage hair loss.

What to expect from PRP hair restoration

Each PRP service starts with a blood draw (about 15 to 20 mL, similar to a routine lab). The blood is processed in the centrifuge for about 10 minutes while the treatment area is prepared with numbing (if applicable). Total visit time is 60 to 90 minutes.

You may have mild bruising at the draw site. The treatment area (scalp, face, or filler site) may be tender, red, or mildly swollen for 24 to 48 hours after.

Skip strenuous exercise and alcohol for 24 hours. Most patients return to normal activity the next day. Results develop over weeks; plan the full series before evaluating outcome.

Benefits of Botox

THICKER HAIR

Stimulates dormant follicles for visibly thicker, denser hair over a 3 to 4 session series.

REDUCED SHEDDING

Most patients notice less daily shedding within 4 to 6 weeks of starting treatment.

EARLY HAIR LOSS FIX

Most effective for patients in early-to-middle stage thinning, before follicles go fully dormant.

NO MEDICATIONS

Drug-free alternative for patients who can't or don't want to use minoxidil or finasteride.

NATURAL BIOLOGY

Uses your own blood-derived growth factors—no synthetic products or hormones involved.

THE APPOINTMENT

Inside a PRP hair restoration appointment

A session takes 60 to 75 minutes including blood draw and PRP processing. Topical numbing is applied to the scalp first. The provider injects PRP across the treatment area in a grid pattern using fine needles. Most patients describe the sensation as quick pricks with mild stinging.

GOOD TO KNOW

How PRP hair restoration compares to topical hair treatments

Standard protocol is 3 to 4 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart for initial loading. Then maintenance every 4 to 6 months to sustain results. Some patients see visible thickening within 2 to 3 months; full results take 6 to 12 months.

FAQ

Your questions,  answered

We’ve answered some of the most common questions below to help make your experience simple, transparent, and stress-free.

We draw your blood, spin it in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets and growth factors, then inject the PRP directly into your scalp where hair is thinning. The growth factors stimulate inactive hair follicles, extend the active growth phase, and improve hair shaft thickness over a series of treatments.

How does PRP work for hair restoration?

Yes for the right candidate. PRP is most effective for early-to-middle stage thinning—androgenetic alopecia (male/female pattern), receding hairline, thinning crown. It's less effective once a follicle has been dormant for years. Most patients see 3 to 4 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart, followed by maintenance every 6 to 9 months.

Does PRP for hair really work?

Best candidates: patients with active thinning where follicles are still alive (recent thinning, miniaturized hairs still present). Less effective: completely bald patches that have been bare for years (no follicles to stimulate). Both men and women benefit. We assess with scalp examination at consultation.

Who is a candidate for PRP hair restoration?

For optimal results, a series of 3 to 4 treatments scheduled 4 weeks apart is recommended. Maintenance treatments are typically scheduled every 6 to 9 months to sustain results. Stopping maintenance typically results in gradual return of thinning—PRP doesn't permanently change the underlying genetic pattern, it stimulates the follicles while you're actively treating.

How many PRP hair sessions will I need?

Most uncomfortable PRP application due to the scalp's nerve density. We can offer additional numbing (topical or nerve blocks). Many patients describe scalp PRP as bearable but not pleasant—the trade-off for hair restoration. Sessions take about 45–60 minutes.

Does PRP for hair hurt?

Mild scalp soreness for 24–72 hours after treatment. Avoid washing hair for 24 hours. Avoid heavy exercise that day. Most patients return to normal activity immediately.

What's the recovery from PRP hair?

PRP Hair Restoration is $675 per session. Loading series of 3 to 4 sessions: package pricing available. Maintenance every 6 to 9 months. Members receive discounted pricing.

How much does PRP hair cost in Lubbock?

Reduction in shedding within 4–6 weeks. New hair growth visible at 3–4 months. Full results from a loading series visible at 6–9 months. Best results come from combining PRP with topical minoxidil or finasteride (under medical care).

When will I see hair restoration results?

Different mechanisms—often combined for best results. Minoxidil and finasteride are pharmaceutical approaches that work daily. PRP is in-office regenerative treatment every few months. Patients combining both typically see better outcomes than either alone. PRP is a great option for patients who can't or won't use medications.

Is PRP for hair better than minoxidil or finasteride?

Yes—female pattern hair loss responds well to PRP. We treat women experiencing diffuse thinning, postpartum thinning that's lasting longer than expected, and age-related thinning. The protocol is the same as for men.

Can women get PRP for hair restoration?

Some patients pursue both—PRP for ongoing maintenance and follicle health, plus hair transplant for areas with complete hair loss. The two approaches are complementary, not competing. PRP can also be used to support transplant healing and graft retention.
