RF Microneedling

Radiofrequency microneedling for the face on the Lumenis triLift 2.0 and its FibroBoost applicator. Full face $650, with the neck or chest added for $150 each, for fine lines, texture and acne scarring.

About 10 minutes of treatment after 30 of numbing; 3 sessions, 2 weeks apart

The FibroBoost pass takes about 10 minutes on the face, after roughly 30 minutes of numbing cream. Lumenis's treatment protocol spaces RF microneedling sessions two weeks apart, three in a course, with a maintenance session three to six months after the last one.

Energy-based microneedling under medical direction

Radiofrequency microneedling on the Lumenis triLift 2.0 with the FibroBoost applicator, performed by trained, licensed staff under our medical director, Dr. Arledge, a plastic surgeon. Depth and energy are set for the area and your skin.

The full face, with neck and chest add-ons

The full face, $650 per session. Add the neck for $150 or the chest for $150 to a face session. Stretch marks and scars are treated separately, $625 per session.

Fine lines, texture, pores and acne scarring

For fine lines, rough or uneven texture, enlarged pores and acne scarring on the face, with the neck and chest available as add-ons. Not used with a pacemaker, defibrillator or other implanted electronic device, over metal implants in the area, during pregnancy, or on recently isotretinoin-treated skin.

Radiofrequency delivered through electrodes finer than a needle

What is RF microneedling?

RF microneedling pairs the collagen response of microneedling with radiofrequency heat. We perform it on the Lumenis triLift 2.0 with its FibroBoost applicator, an array of electrodes 0.15 mm across, about the width of a hair. Each electrode opens its channel with a short pulse of radiofrequency rather than mechanical force, then delivers heat into the dermis below, which prompts the skin to rebuild collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. On the face it is used for fine lines, rough or uneven texture, enlarged pores and acne scarring.

A full-face session is $650. You can add the neck or the chest to a face session for $150 each, for crepey texture, fine lines and sun damage in those areas. Stretch marks and scars have their own treatment and page: RF microneedling for stretch marks and scars, $625 per session.

RF microneedling sits alongside our other microneedling options, including SkinPen microneedling and microneedling with PRP. Your provider helps you choose based on your skin, your goals, and how much downtime fits your schedule.

What to expect from RF microneedling

We start by numbing the area, so the session itself is comfortable. Afterward the skin looks flushed and feels warm, a little like a mild sunburn, and that settles over a few hours rather than days. There is no bleeding, and the skin does not peel or shed the way it can after a resurfacing laser or deeper needling. Leave makeup off for the first 24 hours, keep retinoids and acids out of your routine for a few days, and wear sunscreen every morning. Our RF microneedling aftercare guide walks through it.

Changes in texture show over the following weeks, and the collagen keeps building for months after your last session.

RF microneedling suits many skin types, but it isn't for everyone. Lumenis contraindicates it for anyone with a pacemaker, a defibrillator or another implanted electronic device, and over metal implants in the treatment area. We also postpone it during pregnancy, over an active skin infection or breakout, and after recent isotretinoin. Like any energy-based treatment it carries real risk. Lumenis lists blistering or burns, excessive redness or swelling, bruising, itching, changes in pigmentation, scarring and a temporary breakout among the possible side effects, which is why it belongs with a trained provider. We can't promise a specific result, and your consultation is where we confirm you're a good candidate.

Benefits of RF microneedling

SKIN FIRMING

Radiofrequency heat adds a firming response to the collagen that microneedling alone prompts.

Softens rough texture, enlarged pores and fine lines across the full face.

ACNE SCARRING

Reaches acne scarring in the dermis, below where topical skincare works.

TRILIFT 2.0 FIBROBOOST

ALL SKIN TYPES

Lumenis rates the applicator for all skin types, with settings tuned to yours.

About 30 minutes of numbing, then a short radiofrequency pass

Inside an RF microneedling appointment

The FibroBoost applicator is part of the Lumenis triLift 2.0, the same platform behind our triLift 2.0 muscle treatment. Its electrodes are 150 microns across, finer than a standard microneedling needle. Lumenis uses what it calls double-pulse technology: controlled thermal pulses that let the electrodes enter the skin through radiofrequency instead of pressure, which is why there is no bleeding.

Lumenis builds separate tips for the face and the body. The facial tip works at 1 mm, and an enhancer setting doubles that depth where your provider needs it. Your provider sets depth and energy for each area and for your skin, one of the reasons this is a medical treatment rather than a spa add-on.

Numbing cream goes on first and needs about half an hour to take effect. The radiofrequency pass itself is short: Lumenis puts the FibroBoost step at about ten minutes on the face. Lumenis's treatment protocol spaces RF microneedling sessions two weeks apart, three in a course, with a maintenance session three to six months after the last one. Your exact plan is set at consultation.

RF microneedling vs SkinPen: when to step up

How RF microneedling compares to SkinPen and PRP microneedling

The simplest way to think about it: SkinPen microneedling ($450) uses needles alone, while RF microneedling adds radiofrequency heat. SkinPen, made by Crown Aesthetics, was the first microneedling device to earn FDA clearance, in 2018. It's a strong choice for texture, pores and overall glow when you'd rather skip the heat.

Microneedling with PRP is a $250 add-on that layers your own platelet-rich plasma over SkinPen needling. For gentle radiofrequency with no needling at all, our Glo2 RF facial is the no-downtime option. If what has changed is the structure under your skin rather than its surface, the standard triLift 2.0 treatment works on the facial muscles themselves, and a plasma pen treatment is another route for lax skin and heavy upper lids.

There's no single best answer. The right choice depends on your skin, your budget and your tolerance for downtime, and that's what we'll sort out together at your consultation. Call (806) 701-5840 or book online when you're ready.

FAQ

Your questions,  answered

We’ve answered some of the most common questions below to help make your experience simple, transparent, and stress-free.

Microneedling combined with radiofrequency energy. We use the FibroBoost applicator on the Lumenis triLift 2.0: electrodes 0.15 mm across open tiny channels in the skin with a pulse of radiofrequency, then deliver heat into the dermis. That heat prompts the skin to rebuild collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.

What is RF microneedling?

On the face: fine lines, rough or uneven texture, enlarged pores and acne scarring, often alongside early loss of firmness. The neck and chest can be added to a face session for crepey texture, fine lines and sun damage. For stretch marks and scars, see RF microneedling for stretch marks and scars.

What does RF microneedling treat?

Standard microneedling, like our SkinPen, uses needles alone to create micro-channels that prompt new collagen. RF microneedling adds radiofrequency heat delivered into the dermis, which adds a firming response on top of that. SkinPen suits texture and glow; RF microneedling is the step up when you want more from each session.

How is RF microneedling different from standard microneedling?

Lumenis's treatment protocol spaces RF microneedling sessions two weeks apart, three in a course, with a maintenance session three to six months after the last one. Your provider confirms the plan for your skin at consultation.

How many RF microneedling sessions will I need?

We apply numbing cream about 30 minutes before treatment, so most people find it very manageable. You will feel warmth from the radiofrequency. Lumenis designed the FibroBoost electrodes and pulse to keep discomfort down, and the treatment pass itself is short.

Does RF microneedling hurt?

Short. The treated skin looks flushed and feels warm for a few hours, a little like a mild sunburn. There is no bleeding and no peeling. Leave makeup off for 24 hours, skip retinoids and acids for a few days, and wear sunscreen every morning. Full instructions are in our RF microneedling aftercare guide.

What's the recovery from RF microneedling?

A full-face session is $650. Adding the neck is $150 and adding the chest is $150. RF microneedling for stretch marks and scars is $625 per session. VIP members save 10%.

How much does RF microneedling cost in Lubbock?

Changes in texture usually show over the weeks after a session. The collagen response keeps building for months after your last treatment, so the full result is best judged a few months out.

When will I see RF microneedling results?

Lumenis rates the FibroBoost applicator for all skin types. We still evaluate darker skin tones carefully and start with conservative settings, because any heat-based treatment can shift pigment. Sun protection afterward matters for everyone.

Is RF microneedling safe for all skin tones?

Book a complimentary consultation. We'll evaluate the concern (tightening, scarring, texture), confirm RF microneedling is the right tool, and design a treatment plan. Call (806) 701-5840 or book online.
