Longer than the face, scaled to the area; 3 sessions, 2 weeks apart
Sessions run longer than a face treatment, scaled to the size of the area, after roughly 30 minutes of numbing cream. Lumenis's treatment protocol spaces RF microneedling sessions two weeks apart, three in a course, with a maintenance session three to six months after the last one.
Energy-based microneedling under medical direction
Radiofrequency microneedling on the Lumenis triLift 2.0 with the FibroBoost body tip, performed by trained, licensed staff under our medical director, Dr. Arledge, a plastic surgeon. Depth and energy are set for each area.
Stretch marks and scars on the abdomen, glutes, arms and elsewhere
Stretch marks and scars wherever they are, including the abdomen, glutes and arms. $625 per session.
Stretch marks and scars
For stretch marks and scars, including surgical and acne scarring on the body. Not used with a pacemaker, defibrillator or other implanted electronic device, over metal implants in the area, during pregnancy, or on recently isotretinoin-treated skin.
Radiofrequency microneedling with a deeper tip built for body skin
What is RF microneedling for stretch marks and scars?
Stretch marks and scars sit in the dermis, below where creams reach, and body skin is thicker than facial skin. RF microneedling works at that level. We perform it on the Lumenis triLift 2.0 with the FibroBoost applicator, whose electrodes are 0.15 mm across. Each one opens its channel with a pulse of radiofrequency, then delivers heat into the skin below to prompt new collagen and elastin.
Lumenis makes a separate tip for the body. Where the facial tip works at 1 mm, the body tip works at 2 mm, and an enhancer setting doubles that depth where your provider needs it. We treat stretch marks and scars wherever they are, most often on the abdomen, glutes and arms.
A session is $625. For the face, neck and chest, see RF microneedling for the face, and to see how it fits with SkinPen and PRP, start at our microneedling page.
What to expect after treatment
Expect flushing and warmth over the treated area for a few hours, a little like a mild sunburn. Keep it out of the sun, skip the gym, saunas and swimming for a few days, and leave scrubs and exfoliating body washes off the area while it settles. The aftercare is the same as for the face: see our RF microneedling aftercare guide.
Results come from new collagen, so they build over weeks and keep developing for months after your last session. Stretch marks and older scars improve in texture and color rather than disappear, and we will tell you plainly at consultation what is realistic for yours.
RF microneedling for stretch marks and scars isn't for everyone. Lumenis contraindicates it for anyone with a pacemaker, a defibrillator or another implanted electronic device, and over metal implants in the treatment area. We also postpone it during pregnancy, over an active skin infection or breakout, and after recent isotretinoin. Like any energy-based treatment it carries real risk. Lumenis lists blistering or burns, excessive redness or swelling, bruising, itching, changes in pigmentation, scarring and a temporary breakout among the possible side effects, which is why it belongs with a trained provider. We can't promise a specific result, and your consultation is where we confirm you're a good candidate.

Benefits for stretch marks and scars
STRETCH MARKS
Works in the dermis, where stretch marks form, to improve their texture over a course.
SCAR TEXTURE
Reaches surgical and acne scarring on the body at the depth where it sits.
ALL SKIN TYPES
Lumenis rates the FibroBoost applicator for all skin types, with conservative settings for darker tones.
DEEPER BODY TIP
A 2 mm Lumenis body tip, built for skin thicker than the face.
NO BLEEDING
Radiofrequency opens each channel, so there is no bleeding, only a few hours of flushing.
Numbing first, then the body tip worked in sections
Inside a stretch mark and scar appointment
Numbing cream goes on first and needs about half an hour to take effect. Your provider then works the FibroBoost body tip across the stretch marks or scar in sections, setting depth and energy for how thick the skin is there. It feels warm and prickly rather than sharp. Larger areas take longer.
There is no bleeding, because radiofrequency opens each channel instead of pressure. Afterward the treated skin looks flushed and feels warm for a few hours.
Lumenis's treatment protocol spaces RF microneedling sessions two weeks apart, three in a course, with a maintenance session three to six months after the last one. Your exact plan is set at consultation.
RF microneedling vs SkinPen vs the triLift 2.0 body treatment
How it compares
SkinPen microneedling is also used on stretch marks and works with needles alone. RF microneedling adds radiofrequency heat and a deeper body tip, which suits thicker body skin, stretch marks and scarring. On the face, neck and chest, the same treatment is RF microneedling for the face.
If your concern is muscle tone or shape on the abdomen and glutes rather than the skin over them, the standard triLift 2.0 body treatment is the better fit. It uses muscle stimulation instead of microneedling, and Lumenis runs it as six weekly sessions. Some people use both.
The right choice depends on what you are trying to change, and that's what your consultation is for. Call (806) 701-5840 or book online when you're ready.
FAQ
Your questions, answered
We’ve answered some of the most common questions below to help make your experience simple, transparent, and stress-free.
It uses the same Lumenis triLift 2.0 FibroBoost applicator as our facial treatment, with a deeper tip made for body skin. Electrodes 0.15 mm across open tiny channels with radiofrequency and deliver heat into the dermis, where stretch marks and scars sit, to prompt new collagen and elastin.
What is RF microneedling for stretch marks and scars?
Wherever they are, most often the abdomen, glutes and arms. Neck and chest RF microneedling are add-ons to a face session; see RF microneedling for the face.
Where do you treat stretch marks and scars?
It can improve their texture and color over a course, because it works in the dermis where stretch marks form. It does not erase them, and how much they change varies from person to person. We will tell you honestly what is realistic for yours.
Can RF microneedling help stretch marks?
Lumenis builds a separate tip for each. The facial tip works at 1 mm and the body tip at 2 mm, with an enhancer setting that doubles the depth where needed. Sessions on the body also take longer, scaled to the area.
How is this different from facial RF microneedling?
Lumenis's treatment protocol spaces RF microneedling sessions two weeks apart, three in a course, with a maintenance session three to six months after the last one. Your provider sets the plan for your skin at consultation.
How many sessions will I need for stretch marks or scars?
Numbing cream goes on about 30 minutes before we start, so most people find it manageable. It feels warm and prickly rather than sharp.
Does RF microneedling for stretch marks hurt?
The treated skin looks flushed and feels warm for a few hours. There is no bleeding. Keep it out of the sun, skip the gym, saunas and swimming for a few days, and leave scrubs off the area. The aftercare is the same as for the face: see our RF microneedling aftercare guide.
What is the recovery after RF microneedling for stretch marks or scars?
$625 per session. VIP members save 10%.
How much does RF microneedling for stretch marks and scars cost?
Anyone with a pacemaker, a defibrillator or another implanted electronic device, and anyone with metal implants in the area being treated. We also postpone it during pregnancy or breastfeeding, over an active skin infection, and within 6 months of isotretinoin.
Who should not have RF microneedling for stretch marks or scars?
They work on different layers. RF microneedling works on the skin: stretch marks and scars. The standard triLift 2.0 body treatment uses muscle stimulation to tone the abdomen and glutes. If your concern is shape and tone, start with triLift; if it is the skin, start here. Some people use both.
Should I choose RF microneedling or the triLift 2.0 body treatment?
Book a consultation. We'll look at the area, confirm RF microneedling is the right tool, and set a plan. Call (806) 701-5840 or book online.
