OUR STORY

Built around you
not the trend.

Twelve years ago, Sheena opened a small treatment room in Lubbock with a single belief: medical-grade aesthetics should never feel transactional. That belief still runs everything we do.

DURATION

An under-eye filler appointment at The Spa by Sheena lasts 45 to 60 minutes, including topical numbing, the consultation, and the cannula-based placement of filler.

PROCEDURE TYPE

Under-eye filler at The Spa by Sheena is classified as a cosmetic procedure, used electively to address under-eye hollowing rather than to treat a medical condition.

BODY AREA

Under-eye filler at The Spa by Sheena is administered on the face, specifically into the tear trough beneath each eye using a blunt-tipped cannula for safer placement.

INDICATION

Under-eye filler at The Spa by Sheena treats tear trough hollowing, under-eye shadowing, and the volume loss that causes a tired or aged appearance, with results lasting 12 to 18 months.

THE PROTOCOL

What is under-eye filler?

Under-eye (tear trough) filler addresses hollowing, dark circles, and the tired appearance that often comes from volume loss in the under-eye area. Hyaluronic acid filler is placed deep against the bone in the tear trough, smoothing the transition from lower lid to cheek and brightening the under-eye area.

What to expect from your under-eye filler appointment

A filler session typically runs 30 to 60 minutes depending on the area. The injector cleanses the treatment area, applies topical numbing if needed, then places product with either a needle or a blunt-tipped cannula. Many fillers also contain lidocaine for in-injection comfort.

Some swelling and bruising are normal for the first few days. Lip filler patients often look noticeably swollen for 24 to 72 hours; cheek and jawline filler swelling is usually subtler. Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, and blood thinners (aspirin, fish oil, NSAIDs) for 24 to 48 hours to minimize bruising.

Final results settle in over 2 to 4 weeks as swelling resolves and the product integrates. Duration varies by product and area: 6 to 12 months for lip filler, 12 to 24 months for cheek and jawline.

Benefits of Botox

BRIGHTER EYES

Fills under-eye hollows to reduce the shadow that creates a tired appearance.

LESS TIRED LOOK

Restored volume eliminates the sunken look that makes you appear exhausted even when rested.

NATURAL RESULT

Soft, thin products designed for the delicate under-eye area—no Tyndall effect with proper technique.

LONG-LASTING

Under-eye filler typically lasts 12 to 18 months due to the area's limited movement.

CANNULA TECHNIQUE

Blunt-tipped cannula technique reduces bruising risk in this sensitive area.

THE APPOINTMENT

Inside an under-eye filler appointment

Under-eye filler is a non-surgical treatment designed to restore lost volume beneath the eyes and reduce the appearance of hollowness, shadows, and tired-looking under-eyes. Using dermal filler, this treatment helps create a smoother, brighter, and more refreshed appearance while maintaining natural-looking results.

FAQ

Your questions,  answered

We’ve answered some of the most common questions below to help make your experience simple, transparent, and stress-free.

Under-eye (tear trough) filler treats hollowing and dark circles caused by volume loss in the under-eye area. By filling the hollow, light reflects differently and the area appears brighter, less tired. It doesn't treat actual pigmentation (skin darkening from blood vessels or melanin)—that needs different treatments.

What does under-eye filler treat?

Most patients need 1–2 syringes total, often split across both sides. The under-eye is a sensitive area requiring conservative dosing—we never overfill here. Some patients need only 0.5 syringe per side; others with deeper hollows may need 1 syringe per side.

How much under-eye filler do I need?

Restylane (original or Restylane Eyelight) and Volbella—soft, low-water-binding products that integrate well in this thin-skinned area. We avoid thicker fillers under eyes because they can cause visible lumpiness or bluish discoloration (Tyndall effect).

What's the best filler for under eyes?

12–18 months. Under-eye is less mobile than lips, so filler tends to last longer here than in highly active areas. Some patients see results 18+ months.

How long does under-eye filler last?

Mild discomfort. We typically use a cannula (blunt-tipped tube) instead of a sharp needle, which reduces bruising risk and is more comfortable than expected. Topical numbing and lidocaine in the product help. The under-eye area is more sensitive than cheeks but less than lips.

Does under-eye filler hurt?

Mild swelling and possible bruising for 3–7 days. Bruising in this area can be more noticeable due to the thin skin. Plan around social events—don't get under-eye filler 1–2 weeks before a major appearance. Final result settles at 2–3 weeks.

What's the recovery from under-eye filler?

Under-eye filler runs $550 to $900 per syringe. Common picks for under-eye: Volbella $550–$900 (soft, hydrating), Eyelight $550 (Galderma's under-eye specific), Restylane Refyne $850. We use thinner products here to avoid Tyndall effect from the thin under-eye skin. Most treatments use 1 syringe total.

How much does under-eye filler cost in Lubbock?

Sometimes. If your dark circles are from volume loss causing shadowing, yes—filler can dramatically improve. If your dark circles are from skin pigmentation, blood vessels showing through thin skin, or genetic skin color, filler won't help (and may actually worsen the appearance). We assess at consultation and tell you honestly what filler can vs. can't fix.

Will under-eye filler fix my dark circles?

The Tyndall effect is bluish discoloration that can occur when hyaluronic acid filler is placed too superficially under thin skin. Light scatters through the gel, creating a blue appearance. Prevention: deeper placement, using the right product, and conservative dosing. If it happens, hyaluronidase dissolves it immediately.

What's the Tyndall effect and how do you prevent it?

Book a complimentary consultation. We need to see your face to determine if filler is appropriate—not everyone is a good candidate. Some patients benefit more from other treatments. Honest assessment, no pressure. Call (806) 701-5840 or book online.
