Lipo-Mino and NAD+ Injection Aftercare
Two quick injections with two different jobs. Lipo-Mino is a lipotropic blend — methionine, inositol, and choline plus B vitamins, including B12 — given in the muscle to support how your body handles fat and energy. NAD+ is a coenzyme your cells use in energy metabolism, given as a subcutaneous shot and best delivered slowly. Aftercare is refreshingly simple: routine injection-site care, steady hydration, protein, and no alcohol or hard workouts for the first 24 hours. This guide walks through the first hour, the same-day basics, and how a weekly series builds over time. Neither shot is a cure or a shortcut; they support a healthy routine, and results vary from person to person.

What happens, and when
Here is the path from treatment day to final result.
First Hour
Warmth is normal
A brief flush of warmth or a mild stinging burn at the injection site is normal in the first few minutes. With NAD+ especially, injecting slowly keeps this comfortable; if a wave of warmth, flushing, or chest or stomach tightness comes on, tell your provider so we can ease the pace. It usually settles within an hour. Sit for a few minutes afterward, drink some water, and there is no formal recovery period to wait out before getting on with your day.
Same Day
Hydrate, no alcohol
Keep water going through the rest of the day. The B vitamins and NAD+ in these shots are water-soluble, so staying hydrated helps your body use and clear them. Skip alcohol tonight — breaking it down draws on the same NAD+ your body just topped up, and it works against the energy and metabolic support you came in for. Eat normally, leaning toward protein and vegetables rather than one heavy, greasy meal.
Weekly Cadence
Build cumulative effect
Any single shot can give a short-term lift, but the energy and metabolic support people are after tends to build gradually over a weekly series rather than from one visit. Many clients run weekly injections for several weeks, then reassess with their provider. Responses vary from person to person, and these injections work alongside — not in place of — sleep, movement, and steady nutrition. We tune your cadence around how you actually feel between visits.
How to support your body after the injection
How to Care for the Injection Site & Maximize Effect
Track your response
Pay a little attention to how the week goes: energy in the afternoons, how you are sleeping, appetite, focus. People respond differently to these injections and there is no single "right" reaction, so your honest read is the most useful thing you can bring to a follow-up. Jot a quick note on your phone if it helps. We use what you tell us to adjust the mix and the timing, and to decide together whether to keep going, space visits out, or change course.
Move and stretch
You can go straight back to your day. A short walk or gentle movement is genuinely fine and helps keep the sore spot from stiffening up. Hold off on hard training, heavy lifting, or a long run that works the injected muscle for the first 24 hours, since that is when a fresh site is most likely to ache or bruise. Light activity, errands, and desk work are all no problem. Let comfort be your guide over the next day.
Eat a balanced meal
Have a real meal within a few hours — lean protein, vegetables, and a complex carb like rice or sweet potato. Lipo-Mino's mix of amino acids and B vitamins supports how your body handles fat and energy, but it does that best on top of solid eating habits, not instead of them. Protein at this meal matters most if you are also working on body composition. These shots are an adjunct to diet and exercise, never a substitute for either.
Hydrate generously
Aim to drink water steadily over the next 24 to 48 hours. The B vitamins and NAD+ here are water-soluble, so good hydration helps your body take them up and clear them, and it eases the mild flushing or headache some people feel afterward. There is no need to force gallons of it; regular glasses through the day are plenty. If you left feeling a little lightheaded, water and a small snack usually settle it quickly.
Cool compress if needed
Right after the shot, light pressure on the site for a minute helps — press, do not rub or squeeze. If it feels sore or puffy later, a cool compress for 10 to 15 minutes at a time, with a cloth between the ice and your skin, calms it down. Most people need nothing more than that. If you bruise easily, avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, or naproxen for the soreness unless a provider told you otherwise; acetaminophen is the gentler choice on bruising.
Keep injection site clean and dry
Keep the injection site clean and dry for the rest of the day. If a small bandage was applied, you can take it off after an hour or two once any pinpoint bleeding has stopped. Hold off on heavy creams, lotions, or makeup over the spot until tomorrow, and skip hot tubs, saunas, and long hot baths for the first 24 hours — heat widens the vessels around a fresh injection and can make a bruise or swelling worse. A normal shower is fine.
Brief site soreness and what is normal
What's Normal: Lipo-Mino & NAD+ Downtime
Normal, temporary, and part of the process.
No real downtime
There is no true downtime with these injections — most people head straight back to work, errands, or the gym without missing a beat. The only things worth planning around are the first 24 hours: no alcohol, and no hard workout that hammers the injected muscle. Beyond that, a fresh site might feel a touch tender if you press on it, but it will not hold you back. If you felt lightheaded during the visit, give yourself a few quiet minutes before driving home.
Energy increase (within days)
Some people notice a lift in energy or mental clarity within a day or two; others feel it more once a few sessions have stacked up, and some notice little from a single shot. All of that is normal — individual response really does vary, and honest expectations serve you better than hype. Where people tend to report the most benefit is a steady weekly or twice-weekly rhythm over several weeks rather than one visit. We would rather set a realistic picture than promise a result we cannot guarantee.
Systemic effects (first hour)
A wave of flushing, warmth, mild fatigue, headache, or lightheadedness can show up right after the injection, most often with NAD+ and most often when it is given quickly. Slowing the injection is the fix, so speak up if it comes on strong. These feelings generally ease within a few hours; sitting for a few minutes and drinking water before you drive helps. Nausea or stomach cramping can happen too and passes the same way — on its own, it is not a reason for alarm.
Injection site reaction (24 to 48 hours)
Mild soreness, a little redness, or a small pinpoint bruise at the injection site is normal and usually fades within 24 to 72 hours. A faint bruise can linger a day or two longer without meaning anything is wrong. If you are coming in for a regular series, we rotate the site each visit — alternating arms, hips, or thighs — so the same spot never gets overworked. What is not routine is pain, swelling, or redness that keeps getting worse after the first couple of days; that is worth a call.
What to avoid in the hours after your shot
What to Avoid After a Lipo-Mino or NAD+ Injection

Touching or Massaging the Site
Do not rub, massage, or press on the injection site for the first hour. Pressure can affect even dispersion of the nutrients into the muscle.

High-Fat or Greasy Meals
Avoid large, high-fat meals immediately after injection. Fat slows absorption and can blunt the early metabolic boost.

Strenuous Exercise
Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours following treatment. The injection site needs to fully absorb the nutrients before heavy activity. Light walking and stretching are encouraged.

Alcohol (48 hours)
Avoid alcohol for 48 hours following treatment. Alcohol competes with NAD+ and B-vitamin absorption and works against the metabolic and energy effects we are building.

Caffeine (24 hours)
Limit caffeine for 24 hours after injection, particularly if you feel the NAD+ energy lift. Layering caffeine on top can cause jitters and disrupted sleep.
When to Call The Spa After a Lipo-Mino or NAD+ Injection
Contact The Spa immediately if you experience:
Some warmth or a brief flush at the injection site, mild lightheadedness, and a little soreness in the first hour are all expected — especially with NAD+, which can feel stronger when it is given quickly. Slowing the injection, sitting for a few minutes, and drinking water usually settle it. Call us if any of these show up instead:
- Injection-site pain, swelling, or redness that worsens after the first 48 to 72 hours rather than fading.
- Signs of infection — pus, drainage, fever, or warmth and redness spreading out from the site.
- Signs of an allergic reaction — hives, wheezing or trouble breathing, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.
- Dizziness, a racing or pounding heartbeat, or chest discomfort that lasts beyond the first hour.
- A severe headache, or nausea and cramping that will not ease over several hours.
During business hours, reach us at (806) 701-5840. For trouble breathing, throat or facial swelling, or chest pain at any hour, do not wait for us — call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
Lipo-Mino and NAD+ shots are part of our NAD+ therapy and wellness offerings. FAQ
Your questions, answered
We’ve answered some of the most common questions below to help make your experience simple, transparent, and stress-free.
NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a coenzyme present in every cell in your body, critical for energy production, DNA repair, and cellular signaling. NAD+ levels decline with age and stress. Boosting NAD+ supports mitochondrial function, energy, mental clarity, athletic recovery, and metabolic health.
What is NAD+ and what does it do?
We offer NAD+ as a subcutaneous injection—a quick shot rather than a multi-hour IV. Subcutaneous NAD+ delivers similar benefits to IV without the time investment or the discomfort some patients experience with NAD+ IVs. Most patients feel benefits within 24–48 hours.
How is NAD+ administered?
Common reported benefits: increased energy, improved mental clarity and focus, better mood, improved sleep quality, faster recovery from exercise, and overall sense of well-being. Some patients notice subtle changes; others notice dramatic improvement. Response varies with baseline NAD+ levels, age, and lifestyle.
What benefits will I notice from NAD+?
Most patients start with weekly injections for 4–6 weeks to build levels, then drop to every 2–4 weeks for maintenance. Patients with high stress, athletic training, or specific recovery needs may benefit from more frequent dosing. We'll customize the schedule based on your goals.
How often should I get NAD+ injections?
Mild stinging during injection (NAD+ itself has some pH-related sensation). Lasts seconds. The injection takes a moment. Most patients tolerate well. If you've had NAD+ IV before and found it uncomfortable, the subcutaneous version is generally much better tolerated.
Does NAD+ injection hurt?
NAD+ Therapy is $75 per injection. Package pricing available for the loading phase. Membership pricing reduces per-injection cost.
How much does NAD+ cost in Lubbock?
NAD+ is a naturally occurring molecule in your body—supplementation is generally well-tolerated and considered safe. Side effects are typically limited to brief flushing or warmth during injection. Patients with certain medical conditions should discuss with their provider before starting.
Is NAD+ safe?
Indirectly. NAD+ supports cellular processes that decline with age—particularly DNA repair, mitochondrial function, and sirtuin activity (proteins involved in longevity pathways). Research is actively expanding in this area. Patients often report 'feeling younger' in terms of energy and recovery, which is the practical anti-aging benefit.
Can NAD+ help with anti-aging?
Oral NAD+ supplements (like NR or NMN) have limited absorption—much of an oral dose is broken down in digestion before reaching cells. Injection bypasses this and delivers usable NAD+ directly. Oral supplements have a role for general support; injections produce more dramatic and reliable effects.
Should I take NAD+ orally instead?
Book a wellness consultation. We'll discuss your goals (energy, recovery, cognitive support), determine whether NAD+ or another wellness service is the best fit, and design a schedule. Most patients add NAD+ to their existing wellness routine. Call (806) 701-5840 or book online.
