POST CARE GUIDE
Lash Lift and Brow Lamination Aftercare
A lash lift curls your own natural lashes from base to tip, and brow lamination smooths and sets your brow hairs into a fuller, uniform shape. Both work like a gentle perm: a relaxing solution loosens the hair's internal bonds, then a setting lotion locks in the new shape, which is why the first 24 hours must stay completely dry and undisturbed while everything cures. Get the area wet, oily, or handled too soon and the lift relaxes early. Results typically last 6 to 8 weeks, growing out gradually as your natural lash and brow cycle refreshes. This guide from our licensed estheticians covers the 24-hour cure, the no-water and no-oil rules, what is normal versus worth a call, and the conditioning routine that keeps the shape at its best.
Your Lash Lift and Brow Lamination care at a glance
What happens, and when
Here is the path from treatment day to final result.
First 24 Hours
Dry and untouched
For the first 24 hours the setting solution is still hardening the new shape into your lashes and brows, so keep the whole area completely dry and hands-off. No water, no steam, no sweat, and no products of any kind on the lashes or brows. Do not rub, tug, or press them. Skip the gym and hot showers, and sleep on your back the first night so nothing crushes the fresh curl before it fully sets.
Days 2 to 3
Resume routine
Once the first 24 hours are up, the bonds have set and normal life resumes. You can shower, wash your face, and let water touch the area again. Use a gentle, water-based cleanser and pat dry rather than rubbing. Keep oil-based products, cleansing balms, and micellar water away from the lashes and brows for now, and hold off on lash curlers and extensions, which fight against the lift you just paid for.
Every 6 to 8 Weeks
Maintain the lift
A lift and lamination last about 6 to 8 weeks. Nothing wears off on a fixed date; the shape simply grows out as your natural lash and brow hairs finish their cycle and are replaced by new, un-lifted ones. A nightly conditioning oil or serum keeps the hairs healthy in the meantime, and most clients rebook around the 6-to-8 week mark to keep the look consistent. Brush brows into place each morning with a spoolie.
How to keep the lift through 6 to 8 weeks
How to Care for Your Lashes & Brows After Treatment
No lash curlers, no extensions
A lash lift already gives you the curl, so a mechanical lash curler has no job here. Clamping down on lifted lashes can crimp, kink, or snap them at the weakest point. Lash extensions are also off the table over a fresh lift: their weight pulls on the curled hairs and cuts the lift short, and the adhesives do not bond reliably to lifted lashes. Let the lift do its work on its own. If you want more drama later, we can talk options at your next appointment.
Nightly conditioning oil extends the lift
Once the first week has passed, a nightly conditioning step keeps the hairs healthy and the result looking its best. A clean lash and brow oil or serum, castor oil or a professional formula, feeds the hair so it stays flexible instead of brittle. Brush a small amount through brows with a clean spoolie and along the lashes at night. Do not start this in the first few days, though. Any oil applied too early works against the freshly set lift rather than for it.
Mascara only after 48 hours (water-based)
Skip mascara, eyeliner, and eye makeup for the first 24 to 48 hours while the lift sets. Honestly, a fresh lift and tint usually make mascara feel unnecessary. When you do go back to it, choose a water-based, non-waterproof formula. Waterproof mascara only comes off with oil-based removers, and that oil is exactly what breaks a lift down and drags brow lamination out of shape. Remove any eye makeup gently with a water-based product and light, downward strokes rather than scrubbing.
Sleep on your back (first night)
Sleep on your back the first night. Pressing your lashes or brows into a pillow while the shape is still setting can flatten one side, crease the curl, or leave the brow hairs pointing the wrong way. Back-sleeping keeps everything untouched through the most fragile hours. If you tend to roll onto your face, a silk or satin pillowcase cuts down on friction and is a good habit for the following nights too.
Cleanse gently (after 24 hours)
After the first 24 hours you can wash your face again, but how you do it matters. Reach for a water-based, oil-free cleanser and work around the eyes with a light touch. Oil and oil-based removers, cleansing balms, and micellar water all break the lift and lamination down, so keep them away from the lashes and brows for at least the first week. Pat the area dry with a soft towel. Never rub, drag, or scrub, and skip facial cleansing brushes near the eyes while everything settles.
Keep dry for 24 hours (mandatory)
This is the single most important rule. For a full 24 hours, keep your lashes and brows completely dry: no water, steam, sweat, tears, cleansers, oils, or skincare on the treated area. A lift and lamination work like a gentle perm, reshaping the hair by breaking and re-forming its internal bonds, and those bonds are still curing during this window. Getting the area wet or steamy too soon relaxes the new shape and shortens how long it lasts. That means no hot showers, no workouts, no sauna, no swimming, and no crying at a good movie for the first day.
The first 24 hours — keep them dry and untouched
What's Normal: Lash Lift & Brow Lamination Downtime
Normal, temporary, and part of the process.
Lift looks dramatic initially
Straight out of the treatment, the curl can look surprisingly high and the brows very uniform. That dramatic first-day version is the shape at its most set. It relaxes on its own over the first 48 hours into a softer, more natural lift and a more lived-in brow. Do not try to comb or flatten it down in the meantime, since handling the hairs while the bonds are still setting can leave the result uneven. Give it two days before you judge it.
Tint darker initially (24 to 48 hours)
If your service included a tint, the color reads bolder and darker right after your appointment. That is normal. Over the next 24 to 48 hours it softens and settles a shade or two as the pigment oxidizes and any surface stain on the skin fades. Resist the urge to scrub it lighter, since scrubbing also disturbs the fresh lift. If the tone still looks off after a couple of days, let us know at your next visit and we will adjust it.
Mild sensitivity (first 24 hours)
A little pink, warm, or slightly tender skin around the eyes and brows is common in the first several hours and usually settles within a day. The area sits close to the eye, so mild watering can happen too. A cool compress or a dab of soothing aloe or fragrance-free gel helps if you need it. What is not expected: burning that lingers, spreading swelling, hives, or itching. Those point to a reaction to the solution or tint, so rinse with cool water and call us.
Water, oil, and pressure to avoid for 24 hours
What to Avoid After a Lash Lift or Brow Lamination

Water & Steam (24 hours)
Avoid all water, steam, sweat, tears, and cleansing products on the treated lashes and brows for 24 hours. The lift solution needs this window to fully cure.

Oil-Based Products
Avoid oil-based makeup removers, cleansers, sunscreens, and skincare on the eye area for at least 48 hours. Oils break down the lift bonds.

Eye Makeup (24 to 48 hours)
No mascara, eyeliner, or eye makeup for 24 to 48 hours. After that, switch to water-based, non-waterproof mascara only.

Lash Curlers & Extensions
Do not use lash curlers on lifted lashes — they crimp and break the hairs. Lash extensions over a fresh lift weigh the hairs down and shorten the result.

Touching & Rubbing
Do not rub, touch, or pull at the treated lashes or brows. Even gentle pressure during the first 24 hours can unevenly set the lift.

Heat (24 hours)
Avoid saunas, steam rooms, hot showers, and hot yoga for 24 hours. Heat and steam interfere with the curing process.

FAQ
Your questions, answered
We’ve answered some of the most common questions below to help make your experience simple, transparent, and stress-free.
Brow services: brow shaping, waxing, tinting (dye), lamination. Lash services: lash tinting, lash lift. We don't currently offer lash extensions—we focus on services that enhance your natural lashes and brows for low-maintenance daily wear.
What lash and brow services do you offer?
Brow lamination is a chemical treatment that softens and reshapes your brow hairs to lay in a uniform direction—a fuller, brushed-up look. Lasts 6–8 weeks. Microblading is permanent makeup, with pigment deposited via small blade strokes—lasts 1–3 years. Lamination is non-permanent and reversible; microblading is a commitment.
What's the difference between brow lamination and microblading?
Lash lift uses a curling solution to lift your natural lashes upward from the root—the same lift you'd get with a curler, but lasting 6–8 weeks. No daily maintenance, no extensions, no glue. Pair with lash tinting for darker definition. Extensions add length and volume with adhered synthetic lashes; lash lift just enhances what you have.
What is a lash lift and how is it different from extensions?
Lash lift, brow lamination, and tinting are typically maintained every 4 to 6 weeks. Lash tint: 4–6 weeks. Brow tint: 3–5 weeks. Brow wax: 3–4 weeks before regrowth. Most patients schedule on a regular monthly cadence to keep results consistent.
How long do brow and lash services last?
Brow waxing involves brief discomfort during the wax pull—lasts seconds. Tinting and lifting are painless—you'll lie back with eyes closed for the duration. We use professional products designed for the eye area.
Do brow and lash services hurt?
Lash and brow services run $20–$80. Exact pricing for each service (brow wax, lash tint, lash lift, brow lamination, etc.) is available at booking. Members receive discounted pricing.
How much do lash and brow services cost in Lubbock?
Immediately after brow waxing, yes. After tinting or lamination/lift: wait 24 hours so the color/curl sets fully. After 24 hours, normal makeup routine resumes.
Can I wear makeup after a lash or brow service?
Most providers (us included) avoid lash lifts during pregnancy out of caution—the chemicals used haven't been thoroughly studied for pregnancy safety. Brow waxing and tinting can continue if skin isn't reactive. We'll customize at booking.
Can I get a lash lift while pregnant?
Rarely—but possible. We do a patch test before first-time tinting if you've never had it. Patients with very sensitive skin or known allergies to PPD (in hair dye) shouldn't get tinting. Lash lift solutions are generally well-tolerated; we'll test and discuss if you have any sensitivities.
Are there any allergic reactions to lash/brow services?
Book online or call (806) 701-5840. Most lash/brow services are 30–45 minutes. Easy to add to another appointment if you're already coming in.
