Female BHRT: What May Occur
Starting bioidentical hormone therapy is an adjustment, and the first weeks to months after your EvexiPEL pellet insertion are when your body settles into its new hormone levels. During that window many women notice temporary changes: a few breakouts, tender breasts, some bloating or fluid retention, spotting or a shift in cycle timing, and swings in mood, energy, or libido as things rebalance. Hair can shift a little too, such as slightly more on the face or a different feel on the scalp. These changes are usually transient while your provider fine-tunes the dose, and lab work at each follow-up guides any adjustment. Everyone responds differently, so nothing here predicts your own experience. This guide walks through what tends to be part of normal adjustment versus what deserves a call, so you know when to give it time and when to reach out to your provider at The Spa by Sheena.

General Precautions
Following treatment, clients may be advised to avoid strenuous exercise, swimming, hot tubs, or excessive sweating for a short period to allow proper healing. Your provider will give personalized aftercare instructions to help ensure optimal results and comfort throughout the adjustment period.

Most of the adjustment-phase changes in this guide ease over the first weeks to months as your EvexiPEL dose settles and your follow-up labs guide any fine-tuning. A few things, though, are worth a prompt call rather than waiting:
Vaginal bleeding or spotting that is heavy, keeps up past the first few months, or returns after it had stopped, and any bleeding at all if you are already through menopause. Call your provider to have it evaluated.
Increasing redness, warmth, swelling, drainage, or pain at the pellet insertion site, or a pellet that works its way back out. These can signal infection or extrusion.
Signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash, hives, itching, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat. Seek care right away.
Mood changes such as low mood, anxiety, or irritability that interfere with your day or do not lift.
Breakouts, new hair growth, breast tenderness, or bloating that are severe or are not easing after the first couple of months. These usually respond to a dose review.
Anything that simply feels outside the norm for you.
