Sculptra is poly-L-lactic acid—a biostimulator that triggers your body to produce its own collagen. Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers that add immediate volume from the product itself, Sculptra works by gradually rebuilding the structural support of your face from underneath. Full results visible at 8 to 12 weeks. Annual maintenance treatments sustain results.

A series of treatments spaced 4 weeks apart is recommended. Most patients need 2 to 3 sessions, with each session using 1–2 vials depending on areas treated. Annual maintenance treatments sustain results long-term.

Results develop gradually as collagen production increases. Initial subtle changes appear at 4–6 weeks. Full results from a complete series are visible at 8 to 12 weeks. The trade-off for waiting: results look more natural and last much longer than typical fillers.

Sculptra is best for areas of broad volume loss: temples, cheeks, jawline, lower face. It's not used in lips. Off-face applications include neck, decolletage, and buttocks for collagen building. We don't use it under the eyes (too superficial for that area).

We apply topical numbing before treatment, and the product is mixed with lidocaine. Most patients are comfortable. Injections are deeper than typical fillers, which can feel different—more pressure than pinching. Soreness is normal for 24–48 hours.

Recovery is about 5 days. Mild swelling and possible bruising at injection sites. Important post-treatment activity: massage the treated areas 5 times per day for 5 minutes, for 5 days (the "5-5-5 rule"). This prevents product from clumping and ensures even collagen building.

Up to 2 years per series. Some patients see results for 2.5+ years. The collagen Sculptra builds is your own—once it's there, it persists. Most patients return for a touch-up vial annually to maintain results.

Sculptra is $850 per vial. Most patients use 1–2 vials per session, with 2 to 3 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart. Total investment for a typical full series: $1,700–$5,100. Annual maintenance treatments sustain results. Members receive discounted per-vial pricing.

No—Sculptra is not reversible. The collagen your body builds is permanent until it's naturally broken down over years. This is why we're conservative with dosing and progress slowly. We'd rather you come back for another vial than over-treat in one session.

Most adults with mild-to-significant facial volume loss are candidates. Better for patients who want gradual change and are willing to wait for results.
