Texas law requires medical spas to operate under physician oversight — Dr. Arledge fills that role and is involved in every medical decision at The Spa.

Founder Sheena Klos, a CIDESCO-certified Master Medical Esthetician and aesthetics trainer, leads the team and trains every esthetician personally before they treat patients independently.

What's the difference between a Nurse Practitioner, Aesthetic Nurse, and Medical Aesthetician?

A Nurse Practitioner (NP) holds a Master's-level nursing degree and can perform a broader range of medical services — including injectables and hormone therapy — under physician oversight. An Aesthetic Nurse is a Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in aesthetic medicine, also performing injectables and medical aesthetic procedures under physician oversight. A Medical Aesthetician is a state-licensed Esthetician with advanced training in medical-grade skincare, chemical peels, microneedling, and laser treatments. Each role has a different scope of practice under Texas law.

What training and credentials do your providers hold?

Our providers are licensed by their respective Texas state boards — the Texas Board of Nursing for our Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurses, and the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation for our Estheticians and Medical Aestheticians. Each is trained directly by founder Sheena Klos in The Spa's protocols and techniques before treating patients independently. How does the team approach my care?

Every plan is built around your goals and paced to your timeline. Your provider partners with you on protocol design, with medical oversight from Patricia Arledge, MD, our Medical Director. Our team trained together under Sheena's standards, so the philosophy, technique, and aesthetic approach stay consistent regardless of who you see.

Can I request a specific provider when I book?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can request a specific provider when you book online or by phone, and we'll do our best to accommodate based on availability and the services that provider performs. If you've worked with one of our providers before and want to continue with them, just let us know.

Question 9

What if my preferred provider isn't available?

Accepted Answer

If your preferred provider doesn't have availability when you need to book, you have two options: hold for the next opening with that provider, or book with another provider on our team who is credentialed for the same service. We're happy to walk through both options with you — just call (806) 701-5840.

Question 10

Do all providers perform all services?

Accepted Answer

No. Each provider performs services that fall within their credentials and scope of practice under Texas law. Injectable and medical treatments are performed by our Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurses. Skincare, lash, brow, chemical peel, and laser treatments are performed by our Medical Aestheticians. Every provider's specific services are listed on their individual profile page.

Will I see the same provider every visit?

Accepted Answer

That's your call. Many patients build a relationship with one provider and continue with them for every visit. Others see different providers depending on the service. Because every provider trained under Sheena's standards, your results stay consistent whichever path you choose.

Are providers continually trained on new techniques?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Aesthetic medicine evolves — devices, products, and protocols update regularly. Our providers complete the continuing education required to maintain their state licenses, plus internal training when we introduce new equipment, products, or refined protocols. Staying current is part of how we maintain the standard of care.
