The Teen Facial is a gentle, focused facial designed for adolescent skin. Teens have different skin concerns than adult patients — emerging acne, sebum overproduction, post-breakout marks, learning a skincare routine — and benefit from a protocol that addresses these without the depth of an adult acne treatment.

What to expect

Comfortable, mostly relaxing experience. Some discomfort during extractions but brief. Mild redness for 30 to 60 minutes post-treatment.

Skip harsh products at home for 24 hours. Apply SPF. The aesthetician will give a simple at-home routine to follow between visits.

Best results from regular facials (every 4 to 6 weeks) paired with consistent home routine. Compound improvement in acne, texture, and skin habits over 3 to 6 months.

How it compares

Teen skin is more reactive than mature skin. Strong actives, deep peels, or aggressive extractions can backfire and cause more breakouts or post-inflammatory pigmentation. The Teen Facial is intentionally gentler while still addressing the concerns that matter most to this age group.

The treatment

The 60-minute appointment covers gentle cleansing, age-appropriate exfoliation, careful extractions of comedones (whiteheads, blackheads), calming mask, light moisturization, and SPF education. The aesthetician also walks through home skincare basics suited to the patient's skin type.

What's a Teen Facial?

We use gentler products suited to younger skin, focus on education (teaching teens about cleansing, SPF, healthy routines), avoid harsh active ingredients that aren't yet needed, and address teen-specific concerns (school stress acne, sports-related congestion, hormonal breakouts).

How is the Teen Facial different from regular facials?

12–18. Younger teens (12–14) typically need the gentlest protocols; older teens (15–18) can tolerate slightly more active treatments. We tailor within the age range. Parents are welcome in the room for younger patients.

What age range is the Teen Facial appropriate for?

Yes—major focus. We help build a simple, sustainable home routine appropriate for the age and skin type. Most teens benefit from a basic cleanse-treat-moisturize-SPF approach. We'll recommend products available at any price point and through our practice.

Does the Teen Facial include skincare recommendations?

Mild peels are appropriate for some older teens (16–18) with specific concerns like acne. Aggressive treatments aren't typically needed at this age—and aren't recommended. We focus on professional facials, gentle peels when warranted, and excellent home care.

Can teens get chemical peels or stronger treatments?

Either is fine. Younger teens often prefer a parent in the room; older teens often prefer privacy. We discuss the visit with whichever parent attends if appropriate. Privacy preferences are respected.
