What it is

A lip flip is a small dose of Botox placed along the upper lip line. The neurotoxin relaxes the muscle that pulls the upper lip downward when you smile, which lets the lip roll slightly outward and reveal more of its natural shape. It's not a filler. There's no added volume. The lip you have looks fuller because more of it is showing.

What to expect

You may notice a feeling of fullness or stiffness around the upper lip for the first few days. Drinking from a straw, whistling, and pronouncing certain words can feel a little different. This is temporary.

Avoid touching, rubbing, or pressing on the upper lip for 24 hours. Skip strenuous exercise for 24 hours. Keep your head upright for the first 4 hours. Softening starts within 5 to 7 days. The result holds for about 6 to 8 weeks.
