What to expect

Your PiQo4 laser facial used picosecond laser pulses to target pigment and refresh the skin's surface. Recovery is light — expect a brief sunburn-like sensation, then a smoother, more even surface over the days that follow. This guide covers what to do, what to avoid, and how to extend your results.

Why this matters

The PiQo4 delivers laser energy in ultra-short pulses that target pigment without significant heat damage to the surrounding skin. Because the skin barrier is briefly more reactive, sun exposure during the first two weeks is the biggest threat to the result — UV can re-trigger the very pigment we just treated. Sun discipline now is what locks in the outcome.

Post care

Wait at least 30 minutes before applying makeup; 24 hours is recommended.
Resume your normal skincare routine the following morning.

For discomfort, apply a cool compress for up to 15 minutes at a time.

Downtime

Mild redness, warmth, and a sunburn-like sensation may be present immediately following treatment and typically resolve within a few hours.
Mild tenderness to the touch may persist for 1–3 days.

Restrictions

Avoid sweating, strenuous exercise, saunas, and swimming for 24 hours.
Protect the skin from direct sun exposure for 2 weeks following treatment.
Avoid all active skincare ingredients including AHAs, BHAs, and retinols for 3–4 days.
Do not pick, scratch, or rub the treated area.

What is the PiQo4 laser and what does it treat?

Speed and gentleness. Older lasers used nanosecond pulses (one billionth of a second). PiQo4's picosecond pulses are 1000x faster, generating less heat per pulse. Result: more effective ink/pigment shattering, less thermal damage, less downtime, and ability to safely treat darker skin tones.

How is PiQo4 different from other lasers?

For ongoing skin health and sustained results, treatments are recommended on a regular cycle every 4 to 6 weeks. Most patients see meaningful improvement after 3–5 sessions for tone, texture, and pigmentation. Specific issues (deep melasma, significant sun damage) may need additional sessions.

How many PiQo4 facial sessions will I need?
