What it is

Neurotoxins are FDA-approved injectable treatments that temporarily relax targeted facial muscles to soften the wrinkles those muscles create—forehead lines, frown lines between the brows, crow's feet, and others. Results develop over about two weeks and last 3 to 5 months depending on the product.

What to expect

A neurotoxin session takes about 15 to 20 minutes. The injector reviews the areas you want addressed, then places small amounts of product into the targeted muscles with a fine needle. Most patients describe it as a quick pinch at each injection point.

After your appointment, you may notice small temporary bumps at each injection site. These resolve quickly. Some patients bruise; if you do, expect it to clear within 7 to 10 days.

Keep your head upright and avoid lying flat for the first few hours. Skip makeup for 3 hours, sweating and exercise for 12 hours, and flying for 48 hours. Onset varies by product (2 to 5 days for visible softening), with full results at about 2 weeks. Treated areas typically hold for 3 to 4 months for Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin, and about 6 months for Daxxify.

What we offer

We offer four FDA-approved neurotoxins, each with slightly different characteristics:

  • Botox ($14/unit) — the original, most-studied option. Standard duration 3 to 5 months.
  • Dysport ($5/unit) — smaller units, broader spread pattern often suited to forehead.
  • Daxxify ($7/unit) — longest duration, averaging 6 months.
  • Xeomin ($14/unit) — "naked" toxin with accessory proteins removed; ideal for patients with prior resistance.

NATURAL EXPRESSION

Trained injectors soften lines while preserving your natural movement and expression.

LASTING RESULTS

All four are FDA-approved neurotoxins that relax muscles to soften wrinkles. Botox is the original and most studied. Dysport spreads more, which can be advantageous for forehead lines. Daxxify lasts the longest—up to 6 months. Xeomin has no additive proteins, useful for patients who've become resistant to other brands. We carry all four; the right one depends on your face, history, and goals.

What's the difference between Botox, Dysport, Daxxify, and Xeomin?

Most patients schedule maintenance appointments every 3 to 5 months—sooner if movement begins to return earlier than expected. Daxxify can extend further (often 6 months). Your individual longevity depends on metabolism, dosage, muscle strength, and how regularly you treat—patients who treat consistently for years often see results last longer.

How long does Botox or Dysport last?

Standard dosing: 20 units for forehead lines, 10–20 for frown lines (the "11s"), 12–24 for crow's feet, and lower amounts for chin, jawline, and lip flip. Some patients need more if their muscles are stronger. Your provider will calculate exact units at consultation. We don't sell minimum packages—you pay for the units you actually use.

How many units of Botox do I need?

Pricing depends on which neurotoxin you choose and how many units you need. Per-unit pricing: Botox $14, Xeomin $14, Daxxify $7, Dysport $5. Daxxify per-unit cost is lower but typically uses similar unit counts for similar effect. Dysport units are smaller so more are needed for the same result. Members receive discounted per-unit pricing.

What does Botox cost per unit in Lubbock?

You'll start noticing softening 4–7 days after treatment, with full effect at 14 days. Don't judge your result before two weeks—the medication needs time to bind to the muscle receptors. We schedule touch-up windows at 2 weeks if any area needs adjustment.

When will I see Botox results?

It's a quick pinch with an ultra-fine needle. Most patients are in and out in 10–15 minutes. We can apply topical numbing if you're sensitive, but most people don't request it. The discomfort is on par with a mosquito bite per injection site.

Does Botox hurt?

Common: minor bruising or swelling at the injection site (resolves in 24–48 hours), occasional mild headache after treatment. Rare: temporary asymmetry or eyelid droop (almost always due to product migration, resolves on its own within weeks). Serious side effects are extremely rare with proper technique. We screen for contraindications at consultation.

Are there side effects of Botox?

Stay upright for 4 hours after treatment. Avoid rubbing the treated area, facials, hot yoga, and saunas for 24 hours. These restrictions reduce the risk of the product migrating to unintended muscles. Sleep on your back the first night if possible.

Can I lay down after Botox?

No. We don't perform neurotoxin treatments during pregnancy or breastfeeding. There isn't enough safety data, and ethical guidelines recommend avoidance. We can resume treatments after you've finished breastfeeding.

Can I get Botox while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Only if it's over-injected. Our approach is to soften, not freeze—you'll still have natural movement and expression. If you want a more relaxed look, we can dose more aggressively. If you want minimal change with some movement preserved, we'll dose lighter. The goal matches your aesthetic.

Will Botox make me look frozen?

Yes—this is called "preventative Botox" and is increasingly common in patients in their late 20s and early 30s. By relaxing the muscles that cause repeated creasing, you prevent the wrinkles from setting in deeply. Most preventative patients use lower doses, less frequently than older patients.

Can Botox prevent wrinkles?

Yes, but plan ahead. Schedule treatment 2–3 weeks before the event so results are fully visible and any minor bruising has resolved. Don't get Botox for the first time the week of a major event—if you've never had it, we want to be sure of the result.

Can I get Botox before a wedding or event?

Not for cosmetic use. Insurance may cover Botox for specific medical conditions (chronic migraines, severe muscle spasms, hyperhidrosis with documentation), but cosmetic indications are out-of-pocket. We accept HSA/FSA for treatments with a medical indication—talk to us about your specific situation.

Will my insurance cover Botox?

Botox relaxes muscles to soften wrinkles caused by movement (forehead lines, frown lines, crow's feet). Fillers restore lost volume (cheeks, lips, under eyes, jawline). They treat different problems and most patients use both. Botox prevents and softens; fillers replace and contour.

What's the difference between Botox and fillers?

First-time patients: book a complimentary consultation so we can review your goals and discuss treatment options. Returning patients: book the treatment directly online or call (806) 701-5840. We schedule treatments six days a week.
