What it is
Microdermabrasion is mechanical exfoliation using a diamond-tip wand to gently remove the outer layer of dead skin cells. Combined with light suction, it produces smoother texture, brighter tone, and improved product absorption.
What to expect
The treatment takes about 30 to 45 minutes of actual microdermabrasion within a 60-minute facial. Most patients describe the sensation as light suction and a scratchy feeling, similar to a cat licking the skin.
Mild pinkness for an hour or two post-treatment is typical. Some patients see slightly more pronounced texture (briefly) before the smoothing effect settles in.
Skip strong actives (retinol, AHA/BHA at home) for 24 hours. Use SPF religiously the day of treatment. Drink water.
What we offer
Microdermabrasion is $215 as a standalone treatment. Often added to a facial or peel for compounded exfoliation. Series and membership pricing reduce per-treatment cost.

The treatment
60-minute session including consultation, treatment, and finishing care. The diamond-tip wand glides over the skin removing dead cells while light suction lifts debris. Sensation is similar to a cat's tongue—mild scratchiness, not painful.
Microdermabrasion is mechanical exfoliation using a diamond-tip wand to gently remove the outer layer of dead skin cells. The wand also applies light suction to lift debris and stimulate circulation. Combined with a facial protocol (cleanse, mask, serums), it produces smoother texture, brighter tone, and better product absorption.
What is microdermabrasion?
Both exfoliate. Microdermabrasion uses a diamond-tip wand and works deeper into the skin. Dermaplaning uses a sterile blade and removes vellus (peach fuzz) hair along with surface skin. Microdermabrasion is better for texture and tone. Dermaplaning is better for smoothness and immediate makeup application. Many patients alternate between them.
How is microdermabrasion different from dermaplaning?
No—it feels like a slight tugging or scratchy sensation, similar to a cat's tongue. Most patients find it relaxing. Mild redness immediately after (looks like you've been in the wind) resolves within hours. No real downtime.
Does microdermabrasion hurt?
Every 4 weeks for maintenance. Patients with thicker or more congested skin can tolerate every 3 weeks during correction. Don't do it more frequently—your skin needs time to rebuild between treatments.
How often should I get microdermabrasion?
Dull tone, rough texture, mild congestion, fine lines, mild hyperpigmentation, and overall maintenance. It's not aggressive enough to treat deep wrinkles or significant scarring—those need stronger treatments (peels, microneedling, lasers). Microdermabrasion is excellent maintenance.
What does microdermabrasion treat?
Microdermabrasion is $215. Members receive discounted pricing. Series pricing available.
How much does microdermabrasion cost in Lubbock?
Yes—mechanical exfoliation doesn't introduce chemicals to the bloodstream. One of the few exfoliating treatments we can do throughout pregnancy. Tell us at booking and we'll skip retinoid-containing serums in the post-treatment products.
Is microdermabrasion safe during pregnancy?
Usually not—the mechanical action and suction can flare inflammation. We'd recommend gentler alternatives like enzymatic exfoliation or Glo2. We'll assess at consultation. Patients with mild sensitivity may tolerate it; severe rosacea or active flares are reasons to choose something else.
Can I do microdermabrasion if I have rosacea or sensitive skin?
Minimal. Mild redness for 1–3 hours. Skin may feel tight for the first day. Use heavy moisturizer and SPF for 48 hours. Avoid sun exposure (sensitivity is heightened). Skip retinoids and active acids for 3–5 days.
What's the recovery from microdermabrasion?
Book online or call (806) 701-5840. We typically recommend pairing it with a facial for full results. Available within a week.
