What it is

Wellness services at The Spa by Sheena go beyond skin to address weight management, hormone balance, and energy. The category includes physician-managed GLP-1 weight management (semaglutide and tirzepatide), bioidentical hormone replacement therapy via pellet insertion for both women and men, NAD+ infusions for cellular health, and B12 / lipotropic blends for energy and metabolic support.

What's included

Rx wellness services (GLP-1, HRT) require a consultation first to review medical history, baseline labs, and treatment fit. NAD+ and Lipo-Mino are direct-bookable shots that don't require a prior consultation.

Who performs it

All wellness services are managed by Rebecca Fant (MSN, FNP-C) with oversight from Medical Director Patricia Arledge, MD. Lab work and follow-up are part of the standard protocol for Rx wellness services.

Our wellness services address weight management, hormone balance, energy, and cellular health. The program includes physician-managed GLP-1 weight loss (semaglutide and tirzepatide), bioidentical hormone replacement therapy via pellet insertion for women and men, NAD+ infusions for cellular health and recovery, and B12/lipotropic injection blends for energy and metabolism support. All services are overseen by Patricia Arledge, MD.

What does The Spa's wellness program include?

Both are GLP-1 medications for weight management, but they work slightly differently. Semaglutide (the active in Ozempic and Wegovy) targets a single receptor pathway. Tirzepatide (Mounjaro, Zepbound) targets two pathways and tends to produce greater weight loss in head-to-head studies—roughly 20% body weight loss on tirzepatide vs 15% on semaglutide. Pricing and tolerability differ; we'll discuss which fits you at consultation.

What's the difference between semaglutide and tirzepatide?

Most patients lose 1–2 lbs per week consistently once at therapeutic dose, with the rate of loss leveling out at month 6–9. Total expected loss at month 12 is 15–22% of starting body weight depending on the medication, starting weight, and lifestyle integration. We start at low doses to minimize side effects and titrate up monthly. The first month is usually the dose-finding phase, not the rapid loss phase.

How quickly will I lose weight on GLP-1 medication?

GLP-1 medications have been used to treat type 2 diabetes for over 15 years and have a well-established safety record. For weight management specifically, long-term data is newer but increasingly positive. Risks include nausea (usually transient), pancreatitis (rare), and gallbladder issues with rapid weight loss. We monitor lab work regularly and adjust dosing based on response and tolerability.

Are GLP-1 medications safe long-term?

Anyone with symptoms of hormone imbalance and lab confirmation: fatigue, weight gain, hot flashes, low libido, mood changes, sleep disruption, brain fog. We start with a full hormone panel via blood draw, then design a treatment plan based on results. HRT isn't appropriate for everyone—we screen for contraindications including history of certain cancers, blood clot disorders, and active cardiovascular disease.

Who is a candidate for hormone replacement therapy?

Bioidentical pellets are rice-sized hormone implants placed under the skin (usually hip or buttock) during a quick in-office procedure. They release a consistent dose over 3–5 months for women and 4–6 months for men. Pellets avoid the daily dosing of creams and the absorption variability of oral hormones. The hormones themselves are bio-identical—structurally identical to what your body produces naturally.

What are bioidentical hormone pellets and how are they different from creams or pills?

We numb the insertion site with local anesthetic before placing the pellets, so the procedure itself is virtually painless. Most patients describe slight pressure. The site is sore for 24–48 hours afterward, similar to a moderate bruise. Avoid swimming, hot tubs, and strenuous exercise for 5–7 days. Most patients return to normal activity within a few hours.

Does pellet insertion hurt?

NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a coenzyme present in every cell in your body, essential for energy production and DNA repair. NAD+ levels decline with age and stress. IV NAD+ infusion delivers a therapeutic dose directly to your cells, supporting energy, mental clarity, cellular repair, and recovery. Most patients feel benefits within 24–48 hours after their first infusion.

What is NAD+ and what does it do?

Weekly during an initial loading phase (4–6 weeks), then every 1–2 weeks for maintenance. Patients with energy or metabolism goals often see best results with weekly shots. Our B12 blend includes methyl-B12 plus lipotropic compounds (MIC: methionine, inositol, choline) that support fat metabolism. The shot itself takes seconds.

How often should I get a B12 shot?

Yes for hormone replacement therapy and GLP-1 medications—we need baseline labs to dose correctly and monitor response. For NAD+ and B12 we typically don't require lab work first unless you have an underlying condition. We can order labs through our partner lab company or work with results from your primary care provider.

Do I need lab work before starting wellness treatments?

Wellness pricing varies by treatment. GLP-1 weight management starts at $215/month. HRT requires a $150 consultation with pellet pricing set after labs. NAD+ is $75 per injection. B12 Skinny Shot is $35 per shot. See individual service pages for full pricing details. Membership pricing applies.

What does the wellness program cost?

Book a wellness consultation. We'll review your symptoms and goals, order any needed lab work, and design a treatment plan with honest pricing. Most patients start with one or two services and add others as they see results. Call (806) 701-5840 or book online.
