WHAT IS SCULPTRA?
Sculptra is injected into the skin to diminish facial wrinkles. It contains PLLA, which acts as a collagen stimulator, helping to gradually restore fullness to facial wrinkles and folds. This results in a softer and more youthful appearance. You may notice immediate results, but it can take a few months to see the full results of your treatment. Our nurse practitioners will work with you to determine the number of treatment sessions needed to achieve the best result. The average regimen consists of three injections spread out over three or four months. During your initial consultation, you’ll be asked to provide your complete medical history, including any medical conditions and allergies. On the day of your first Sculptra treatment, your nurses practitioner will map the injection sites on your skin and cleanse the area. A topical anesthetic may be applied to help with any discomfort. We will then inject your skin using multiple small injections. You should be able to return to your normal activities immediately after treatment. Sculptra is used to diminish facial wrinkles and folds and has been clinically approved to treat smile lines and other wrinkles around the nose and mouth as well as chin wrinkles.
One of the key differences between a liquid facelift and the other injectable gel fillers on the market is that Sculptra focuses less on actually "filling" the face, and more on stimulating collagen production. In other words, Sculptra encourages the face to fill itself with additional collagen production. The gradual onset of results is also something that is unique to Sculptra. Other dermal fillers offer client results in as soon as two weeks, although those other fillers usually don’t last more than a year. Clients also often combine Sculptra with other services, including botulinum toxin injections, micro-needling, and laser treatments. Our team will develop a custom treatment plan that addresses all your cosmetic concerns and goals.
MOST IMPORTANT: Rule of 5’s: Massage the areas injected for 5 minutes, 5 times daily, for 5 days. This is critical to prevent the formation of nodules – we want to keep the Sculptra particles dispersed in the tissue rather than allowing too much collagen to form in one spot.
